A technical Wordpress question

INTERNET MARKETING

Hey warriors recently setting up wordpress has frustrated the hell out of me. Previously all i had to do was to install wordpress in a subdirectory and point the domain to that directory. But now whenever i do that i get a broken wordpress blog and the support provided by hosting company is very non cooperative i have been trying from past 5 days to solve the problem they just told me that i have to check the url through mysql. Since i am not a technical person i don't knwo what to check how to check. Any advice is appreciated is there some step i am ignoring?

Is there an articulate question that people on this board are ignoring?

Anoopchawla, ask a specific question and you might get more helpful replies than this one.

Perhaps the nature of your problem revolves around "check[ing] the url through mySQL." I have no idea what that means.

Maybe someone else does... :confused:

What's the URL of your blog?

Can you access your wp-admin?

Sometimes error occurs when you install wordpress in a directly and then have it point to another directory (i.e. installing your wp in /blog but having it show up on the main domain)

If you're able to log into your wp-admin then you just have the change the blog url (in your settings > general), otherwise you would have to look into your database. That is, for a newbie, quite a tricky thing to do. But let's not get there until we're sure you need to

In your cpanel go to phpmyadmin
Select your database
Select the table, wp-options
In wo-options, choose Browse and then select Blog ID table
The url is in there. Edit it if needed.
