Sorry For Interrupting Your Regularly Scheduled Program...

First, I would like to state that I started IM in an affiliate marketing program and was relatively successful at it. However, I knew in my heart that there was much more I would rather be doing, the things I was passionate about, and the things I knew I had talent in, but could not utilize in that program.

I had a friend recommend this forum to me as a great resource to learn different avenues of IM, and great warriors who were very willing to help, so I joined and found the very things that I was looking for.

I found great information to take me to the next level, truly humble people who so willingly helped me to take my IM endeavors up quite a few notches, formed great and fun relationships, found friends to make me laugh and encourage me along the way, friendships that I know will be life long forged friendships.

I'll take this moment to thank, from the bottom of my heart, those that have helped me by posting informative posts, private help through PM's,
help in answering questions I posted, help by adding to my learning experience by leading me to some additional sites that contributed to my learning experiences, helping me find just the tools I needed for some of my projects and last, but certainly not least those that have made my experience here a fun place to be and make me laugh when I need to give my brain a break, and to not take myself so seriously! I will not mention names, (but some of you know who you are, and some of you may not even realise that you are one that I refer to) as so I won't incite some warriors here.

And this brings me to point of this post. I've always had the philosophy in life to eat the meat and spit out the bone. There are bones everywhere, in every category of life, and I'm quite used to it. However, as of late here in this forum, I find that I am finding way too many bones, that I am choking and spitting out way too many of them, to get to the meat. I don't particularly like to spit out bones which is why I purchase a lot of boneless meat while grocery shopping.

For those of you who like placing all those bones in just about every thread you speak out in, have to argue with almost anybody and everybody, have a snide, rude or demeaning comment directed at someone personally...please stop. And if you don't have enough self discipline to do so, and can't help yourself, then please join a debate team, or even yet, get up off of your argumentative butt, take some initiative, and form one. From what I can see, it could be quite lucrative for you. As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together, so in the same thought process, negativity follows negativity, please take your bones somewhere else, as I am beginning to be starved of the nutrition I need from the meat.

Thank you,
MissTerraK

    HEHEHEHE......

Thank you Terra. I think you hit the nail on the head here. I came to WF to learn. Although there is still alot of great people here, there are more and more fake marketers trying to push junk information.

When your only way to defend your point of view is to start berating other people, it just proves to me that you don't know what you are talking about.

If you are going to claim that you know what you are talking about, then please back it up with proof or keep your mouth shut. Stop spouting opinions as if they were facts. Whats the difference? Facts you can prove, opinions you can't. Learn the difference if you want to keep from pissing people off.

That being said, there are a lot of great Warriors here who are willing to help you to succeed. Listen to the ones who back up their statemnts with proof, and you will go much farther to succeeding.

Very good points...However, I will say that my experience here at wf with respect to the negativity and salty posts has been quite tame compared to some of the combative posts in some of the credit repair forums that I have been associated with.

"For those of you who like placing all those bones in just about every thread..."

Love that conceptualization, Terra...I might just steal it from you. :p

By the way, can't we all just get back to talking about ice cream?

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

      Dennis,
You can't steal anything if you have permission!

Yes, ice cream... now look what you've done...you've got me craving some Moose Tracks flavor!

Oh, the vanilla ice cream with hidden layers of real chocolate strategically placed and then the extra delectable finds of mini chocolate covered peanut butter cups, the ultra treat!

So much for my girlie figure! Oh, the humanity...to quote some friends named Andy and Kurt!:p

Careful Terra, you're bound to attract the wrath of some of our vegetarian Warriors, who will no doubt insist you retract your words or at least come up with an analogy that uses tofu!

For the record I prefer Fillet Mignon!

Seriously you raised an excellent point, there seems to be a lot of petty bickering lately. Yesterday there was a thread that became a running argument spanning three pages simply because one Warrior voiced an opinion about which other Warriors he chose to admire.

I enjoy a good debate, one in which the participants aren't afraid to state their opinions but still show respect for one another. In the midst of an active debate it isn't uncommon for someone to make a quick post and then realize that the wording might be misinterpreted. In that case a quick correction or apology should be all that is required.

But we've all seen cases in which it has gone too far,and when people start to verbally abuse each other on a post it's time to shut it down. It would be a shame if the mods had to do this, after all we are supposed to be adults here and we are all working in a common field. This forum is intended as a resource where we can help one another, not tear each other down. As you stated , there are places to do that and this isn't one of them.

A few of our senior and most respected Warriors also had a debate earlier this week, and it served as an example of how people who differed drastically in opinion could discuss their differences in a civilized manner. Thats probably one of the reason they are respected, we could all take a lesson from them.

I sure hope that's some sort of ice cream! Otherwise I suggest you stick with the beef (oops, I mean veggie-burgers)!

Thank you for the warning, but I couldn't think of any plants that had bones, and well...

If I went with the route of using the baby and bath water analagy, it certainly could have been worse!

I agree with your point, maturity plays a large roll in having a discussion and agreeing to disagree, as opposited to start insulting, name calling etc.

And yes, Moose Tracks is an ice cream, and if you've never tried it, you should, as you're missing out on quite a delightful sweet treat! LOL!

          Hi you all !

As a newbie (someone who has not made a dime on IM), I was lurking FOREVER because I saw already a year ago, this is a tough crowd. Finally I just decided to join in and it was scary.

Little did I know that most members are WAY helpful and my little contributions has brought me many thanks. I would never even dream off lashing out in a dis-respectful manner to a fellow Warrior. We are all here to learn, make friends, build and prosper.

There is a similar thread going on with Kim Standerline (hope I spelled her name right) but bottom line is:

If you can't put on your best shiny shoes, show respect and contribute, maybe this is not the place to be. Why trying to ruin something that is BETTER than sliced bread, lol

Leave your sorrows at home or seak the advise of a good therapist, you'll be glad you did, Eva

Terra, this is so true. I've seen more than my fair share of recent threads that have devolved into senseless negativity, with people resorting to name-calling and personal insults to get the upper hand and gain superiority. I do agree that it can be very emotionally draining, and it becomes pointless and a waste of everyone's time to participate in or even read such discussions. These threads end up becoming more of an opinion-based discussion rather than anything based on real facts.

@McGruff - the reason why threads typically get 'tamed' before they get too out of hand is because the forum here is heavily moderated, unlike the credit forums that you're reading.

The difference I see is just the overall attitude btw subject matter. The credit repair forums were moderated as well, but there was so much more combative misinformation about the law, credit repair techniques, and general hostility etc compared to this forum.
