customizable theme for wordpress

Hey guys, I've had it all the premade wordpress themes I've had!

The first one came preloaded with adsense ads (paying the developer straight)


Whilst others have been a nightmare to use (such as not letting me add a opt in box in the sidebar because its already full of unremovable junk such as calenders)


Is there any that I can get that are simple looking that i can just change the header for?


also what is cutline? I've heard so much about that template, is that what I am looking for

    Some great customizable themes would be StudioPress, WooThemes, Flexibility and iThemes, just to name a few.

    Just saw the new "Builder" theme from iThemes and will be picking that up next week for sure.

    Lots of WordPress theme sites, both free and premium, listed (and linked to) in this article:

    Those links will get you to more than 2,000 themes in total and there are some good free ones there that don't contain the stuff you referred to.

    Over a thousand noncommercialized free at the source: WordPress › Free WordPress Themes. You are in turn free to use them commercially yourself. I don't believe any of them comes wired in with the developer's AdSense IDs. Some good ones to start with are:

    Mystique
    Fayzvo
    Magazine Basic

    I know exactly how you feel Ruch. I just recently found a theme on one of the free theme sites, I'm not sure which one, but I'm sure if you search Google for it, you can find it. It's called "Thesis" and it's HIGHLY customizable.

    I think it's just what you're looking for.
