Good Names in Article Marketing

Hey guys,

Recently started really getting into article marketing. I've searched the site for decent e-books or names on the subject but when you search all I find are offers that have nothing to do with what I'm looking for

Any of you know any good interviews, videos or e-books on the subject that you would definitely recommend?

Thanks a lot.

We wrote a 7,000 word ebook for our affiliates, it is not a step by step guide to article marketing, but it covers a lot of different traffic generation methods, lists popular article sites, popular web2.0 sites, and gives advice on making mini sites and blogs, and the importance of building backlinks etc.

You can download it free here if you are interested - a lot of this can apply to any product / website:

Oh, and another good FREE resource (which has nothing to do with me ) is Bum Marketing Method:
Bum Marketing Method - Free Traffic Tips

It is a completely free course (that others would charge $1000s for), and its basic premise is that it teaches marketing methods that a "bum" could use to generate income - i.e. all free traffic generation methods (primarily article marketing) - how to write your articles, where to post them, how to link them together etc etc - everything you need from start to finish in article marketing affiliate products.

Based on everything I have read by him here on the forum I would say that you should read his stuff too.

As far as recommending something to buy, since I have never bought any of Allen's stuff (Sorry Allen, just haven't got around to it yet I didn't.

I can tell you that he knows what he is talking about when it comes to articles.

Threads asking how to do Article Marketing come up quite often here - so I have a standard reply - I hope this helps:

Two brilliant threads to read about article marketing are these:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

Read them both - all the way through - and take notes.

For further information I recommend the following directory - It is education in article marketing - a guide book and monthly newsletters - with a directory thrown in! You can read what Warriors think about it here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...alks-walk.html

Article Directory - Article Marketing Community

I can also recommend the WSO's from this guy:

    View Profile: Zeus66

This guy also has some good stuff - some article marketing some on other things

    View Profile: Steven Wagenheim

    Hope this helps.

Here's a tip...and take it for what it's worth to you.

There is a lot of great information out there from a number of very
      knowledgeable people.

But the information itself isn't going to turn you into a successful article
      marketer.

There are too many variables outside of the "how to" stuff that can wreck
      havoc with your article marketing.

      1. The niche itself
      2. The product you're promoting
      3. The type of articles you choose to write.

Let me touch on number 3 because it's so important.

You can follow a proven step by step formula for writing an article,
submit it, and still get no response.

      Why?

Because your target market doesn't respond to that type of writing or
      your style.

See, the problem with article writing, at least the way it's taught, is that
in order for it to be generally effective as a tool, it has to be taught in
a generic way. Otherwise, you're going to see article marketing books
that are 10,000 pages long trying to cover every possible market and how
      to reach it.

You won't write for the hip hop market the same way you'll write for
somebody who is suffering from cancer. Your voice will have a lot to
do with how well the article goes over.

And voice can't be taught because it's too specific a skill. At least I have
yet to see any article writing book try to teach how to appeal to a
      number of different marketers.

This is why copywriters get paid so much. They have to study the niche
and find out what people respond to. They have to figure out what kind
of language they have to use to appeal to that target market. That's
why, if you go to Clickbank and look at 2 sales letters (one for starting
a hip hop label and another for selling a asthma treatment) you'll notice
that the style of writing is totally different even though the basic principles
      of copywriting are all there.

In other words, you won't find a cookie cutter approach to article
marketing that is going to be a slam dunk for you.

      It doesn't exist.

You're going to have to understand your target market. You're going to
have to figure out how to write for them, what kind of resource boxes
      they respond to.

This is why I'd never try to write articles for the hip hop market because
I can't speak their language and don't have the time or the patience to
      try to learn.

I don't know if any of this is making sense to you, but I hope so.

Having said that, I can recommend that following people:

Dean Shainin (especially for tackling Ezine Articles)
      Tim Gorman
      Allen Graves
Paul Myers Newsletter (just for plain learning how to write period)

      Good luck with your search.
