Making an ebook as Viral as possible

Hey guys,

I'm working on a viral ebook to spread around, which I will make rebrandable so other's can earn commissions off of it.

I want to be able to build my list as it spreads, so I need an incentive to get people to come to my website and sign up after opening the ebook. Has anyone done this before and tested different methods as incentives?

Here are my ideas so far:

1. Offer a download of a special related report
2. Say that the ebook is updated periodically and signup to get the latest version
3. Offer an audio version of the ebook for free if they sign up

Do you have any more ideas to add or ones that you have found work especially well?

Also, I'm not sure if this is possible, but can you embed an optin form into a pdf document? This would make opting in all the easier.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Tyson

    No one has any ideas?

There's got to be someone that has used a viral ebook to market their sites before!

This is my first so I'd appreciate any and all advice you can give me.

I just had another thought to add to my list of ideas as well.

As an incentive for people to sign up to my list, I could give them a 7 day ecourse that explains exactly how to use the book to get the best results.

    What do you think?

    Thanks,
    Tyson

I think you are on the right track.
But if you don't have a list you might want to try the following:
People are always looking for free offers to giveaway to their list. With that in mind, pick a number of marketers with good size lists and give them the right to give your book away (the free one). To sweeten the deal a little, you could even customize each free on with ads for your paid product as well as the paid product of the other marketer.
Plus if you change the free book to be a 2-part book, make it necessary for those interested to sign up to your list in order to get the other part.
Then, write some short articles and blog posts related to all of the books to get more followers and buyers.

    Twitter.

1.) Promote your site in a free report. Affiliate links are a bonus, but make sure you promote YOURSELF above all.

2.) Offer the report for free: however, instead of getting people to directly opt-in, give it to them in exchange for tweeting about your report.

I think there's a Twitter script in the War Room that'll help you out with this.

Put something in your ebook so valuable or entertaining or funny or unusual that people can't wait to share it with others.

Making an ebook go viral is almost impossible to engineer.
Predicting what is going to capture the imagination enough to get people download the ebook.

I'm still working on it though.

I would love to hear from some warriors who have had an ebook take off in this way.

Well suppose it was a free book about a topic which people
might like to know about such as, well let me think now ...
        a guide to ad trackers.

And suppose you allowed them to rebrand the products in the
book - which are yours - with their affiliate link.

And suppose the rebranding was very simple. No need to
download the book, run a rebranding program and upload it to
your site. Everything would be accomplished simply by one
        link.

Then ... that might just work

    Howdy,
I see you replied to my post here:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-form-pdf.html

I know you can embed forms that post data in a pdf.
But as the response to my thread was almost non existent then it seems that its not something people use.

To answer your question, I would use the 'visit my site to get the latest version' method.

I write a blog post (well co-wrote it) that deals partly with eBooks. Pat Flynn's eBook is going viral and doing very well. You might get some ideas from that - it's an ebook on ebooks. I can't post the link, but you can click on my sig and then go back one page in the articles.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I especially like the twitter idea, though I haven't had much in the way of success with twitter so far. I'm checking out Pat's ebook right now, I'll let you know what I find out.

      Thanks,

The post linking to the 'get bonus partners' website?

How is that website doing? many people picking up bonus's and using them on their products?

Any other similar websites or places we can submit ebooks?

      Thanks

Tyson, I'd pay attention to what Harvey said if I were you.

Harv, if I remember correctly, don't you offer a rebrander script like you describe in your Supertips ebook?

Well I took a look at Pat Flynn's book, and it's more of a basic 'how to create an ebook and sell it' guide than what I'm looking for.

My main concern will be getting people to opt in for my list once they open up the book to read it.

Nobody's tested this much before to really know what kind of incentive works the best? Maybe the "get updates" way will work best.

Thanks for the ideas so far though, it's been helpful.

A tactic that's worked for me in the past is to create a few related videos and mention that they're a free bonus with the report, and tell the readers where they can go and "opt-in" to access the videos on your website. It's an amazingly simple idea but people love videos especially when the content supplements the report or makes absorbing the content easier...

Depending on the type of content it may be as simple as creating a video slideshow and talking your way through it...

One thought might be to have people subscribe to your list after paying and prior to going to the download page. If their interested enough to buy, it shouldn't be that much of an inconveinance. Just an idea. Best of luck.

Put it on as many Torrent sites as you can find..........it'll go viral if you offer info that people need..........it all starts with demand.if people need the info and you give it away for free with aff links or a link to signup to your list.......you'll get flooded.

I know the mods don't like speaking of torrent sites.....sorry
