YouTube vids embed or link to? question and a possible idea

Here's a question and a possible idea

I have some YouTube vids promoting my new product (how to use it etc types)

Rather than embed the vids in my sales website - ie whereby people would view them in the sales site - it occured to me that it might be better if I put a link into YouTube itself

ie there will be an increase of traffic on my YouTube pages / vids ... AND I might even get commenst / ratings

Any feedback really appreciated

Many thanks Al

(Apologies if this covers old ground. I have searched but can't see this covered elsewhere

An embedded link will bring you back to youtube if you click twice on it anyway so I am not quite sure what you are asking?

But yes, it should work however then you have to get many people to watch your video and be suitably impressed to go looking for your site...this is the hard part lol

    Thanks for that

    >>An embedded link will bring you back to

Yes I guess I am assuming people will not know / do that. Instead by getting them to click into it YouTube will think there is genuine interest / buzz about the video.... and that the video category being fairly quiet any type of buzz will somehow boost that video up
    YT's
    own
    search
    rankings...

    >>then you have to get many people to watch your video and be suitably impressed to go looking for your site...this is the hard part
    lol

    Yes. Very true.

well my aim is to "offer something people actually want to buy"

    ie I have
    ID'd
a niche that people are searching for and is growing

coming up with the product for it was the truly hard part. It's taken me like 18 months (sob)

anyway thanks a lot for your feedback

    Hey alnewman,

My advice is to upload the video on Youtube with a link in the description linking to your website and embed the video on your website too.
Since YouTube is the biggest video social community ,this will bring you a nice flow of traffic if your product it's useful, trust me.

    Regards

Just enter: http://yourwebsite.com in the description and your YT video will have a hyperlink to your site.

If the reason for creating those videos was to promote your product/website then definitely send people to view your video on YouTube.com. Ask for comments in the comments section under your video as well. This will help your video(s) gain popularity on YouTube itself. Use social bookmarks to bookmark your videos on YouTube.com and make sure that your keywords are in the title of your video(s).

If you created the videos specifically for your product's users to show them how to use your product then you should have the video(s) embedded directly on your website. This way, your users will not have to leave your website to get the information that you promise them.

    I hope that this helps.

    hey there

you can also engage your video viewers to click to your (product/affiliate tour) or sign-up to your opt-in lists from your video by doing something like i've done here:

    VideoMarketing - Video Marketing - Examples - Make'M Click

if interested in trying this out, hit me up with a PM.

Hey Al, I guarantee sending traffic from your salespage to YouTube will lower your conversions.

    What I would do...

    - Create a video version for your salespage that you self host. NEVER send traffic away from your salespage (use a pop up like GreyBox if you need to show content on another site).

    - Start two video marketing campaigns (create two YouTube accounts)...
    - Your first YouTube account will be dedicated solely to building a following on YouTube (focusing on getting friends and subscribers), producing a unique video at least once a week that has a call to action to comment/rate your video at the end followed by a call to action to visit a squeeze page you have setup where you give away something related to your product for free. That freebie you giveaway will presell your main offer and link to it.

You will then send those subscribers a series of emails that presell them on your main offer and links to it.

With this type of campaign use a friend/subscriber adder tool such as TubeToolbox (I did the promo video for them, but I use their service and it's awesome!).

It works WONDERS, but the key is to be consistent with releasing new videos and making sure your friend adder/subscriber tool is constantly sending out new friend requests to those who have commented on videos related to yours.

    - Your second YouTube account will be dedicated to getting traffic to your videos from organic listings in Google and other SE's. You will create multiple versions (spin) the video(s) you release to your other 'community' YouTube account targeting different keywords for each spun video. You will also want to submit these to other video sharing sites by using services such as TubeMogul (free) or TrafficGeyser (monthly fee). You will send this traffic to a squeezer as well (a video squeezer will convert better.)

If you're strapped for time focus on the first option, it's amazing how quickly you can get 1000s of views to EVERY video you release, more ratings/comments/visitors for each new video as your community aspect grows (friends/subscribers.) You can 'send' each new video you produce to all friends and ask to view/comment/rate for you. If the videos have excellent content and have an entertainment aspect to them then they have a good shot at going viral.

Best of luck, do what I outlined above and you will have a huge list and a lot of sales in as little as 1-2 weeks.
