Sweet, my iPad site made $63.56 Yesterday

Hi guys, I'm hoping you can give me some ideas about how to monetize my iPad site.

It's a site I threw up about 2 months ago shortly after the device was first announced.

At first, nothing. Then maybe a month ago it finally got a favorable search engine ranking and it got a trickle of traffic, and I made probably $15 from adsense in the second month.

Since the device has been released it's been getting about 70 uniques per day from free Google traffic.

I added an Amazon link to it a couple days ago, and yesterday someone clicked through it and bought a 58 inch TV which gave me a commission of $63.56.

In total I sent about 40 people to amazon yesterday.

Previously I hadn't paid much attention to this site (it's a simple one page site with some basic info about the iPad). Now that it's getting some steady traffic I'm wondering if there are some better ways I might monetize my 70 visitors per day.

Does anyone know about those "Get a Free iPad" offers that pay like $1 per lead and how to sign up for them? Or is that even a good program? Or just stick with what I've got?

The offers you're thinking about are CPA offers and yeah that's definitely a good idea to stick on your site.

The way it works is the offer will say "Get a Free iPad, just enter your email/zip code here." and everytime someone submits that info, you will get like $1-$2 or so.

You will have to join some CPA networks before being able to run these offers though. I would suggest going to offervault.com and searching for iPad CPA offers and then apply to those networks.

Along with that, just keep the Amazon links on your site so people can buy the iPad through Amazon right from your site. Also add some Adsense to it and work on getting your site ranked even higher in the search engines so you get even more traffic.

        Thanks for the info everyone

I've looked into some CPA programs, and it looks like the options are:

        1. ~$12 per cell phone number opt-in
        2. ~$2 per email/zipcode opt-in

Anyone have any experience with trying to get cell phone numbers vs email addresses?

Its definetly easier to get the zip and if you do get the cell phone number you have to be careful. I've noticed that if the person doesn't have cell with a major network like Verizon, Sprint, etc, it won't count (I'm guessing due to the billing issue). With so many new plans that don't require a contract, this can be tricky. I'd say stick ot zip submits.

P.S. Congrats on your earnings, I hope there's more to come for you.

Congrats on the sale. I would definitely go the CPA route. You'll have to join a CPA network though like Maxbounty, COPEAC, etc. Good luck!

You're going to have a lot better luck getting email/zipcode opt-ins. But, like anything else in IM, be sure to test it. Put up a split test of the 2 and see which one is more profitable. Just keep in mind that it's going to take 6 times as many email/zipcode opt-ins to make the same money. So, if you can make the cell phone method convert reasonable close, you'll end up making more profit.

    Good luck.

Thats really good! sounds like you could find some keywords that target ipads, and try ranking for several of them through SEO! It may result in increased traffic for you!

Also get some backlinks in the process, perhaps through some article marketing maybe!

    Good luck!

+1 on going the CPA route. Someone was advertising an "iPad Tester" thing where if you beta-test the iPad, you get to keep it.

Me being a marketer myself almost fell for it, lol. Then I realized it was a sneaky CPA offer.

CPA may work pretty decent. I'm personally a HUGE fan of Adsense. If you do it right with 70 uniques a day, you should be getting 7 to 15 clicks per day on the site. You should be able to avg. $0.50 to $1.00 per click. maybe $15/day on the site. You might be able to make the same from CPA on those freebie offers; but some dont convert well AT ALL. So, if its not working, dont give up on adsense. you might just need to change how your ads are laid out.
