Ad:tech - A place for Newbies?

There is ad:tech coming up in my area. I am a newbie affiliate marketer and I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to go. If I do go, I would be buying a exhibit hall pass which is $50, not the training passes which are $1000+! I am looking to learn more about affiliate marketing and meet some people in the industry. Please let me know if this would be a good place for me to go. Thanks

    From what I hear, never been, it's the best spot out of ASE, ASW, etc for actual information.

    As long as you don't act too much like a noob and mingle well with the networks you'll get all the help you need. Traffic sources, that the general core of internet marketers, won't hear about for months are first revealed there.

    It's a great spot - especially if you know some people going to network, learn, and get help growing your business.

    Best $50 you'll ever spend in all honesty I'm sure.

    EDIT: What really makes ad: tech different is a lot of traffic brokers and networks go there. Apposed to mostly just CPA networks like at ASW. This means you instantly see some of the newest, and hottest traffic sources before others do.

    Now how good they are is a whole different story.

      Thanks for the input! It looks like it might be worth checking out for me. I've been doing affiliate marketing for a couple of weeks now and would love to learn more about the industry. Most importantly it would be nice to speak face to face with somebody.

        Your get lots of coupons for various different PPC sites and I think it is good that you go to these sort of things because of the experience. I never been because I am in England but another family memeber of mine went and he came back with a hand full of ppc coupons . It is also a good place to learn, lots of magazines which teach, definitely worth it and I am looking to go in the next couple of years.

          FREE PPC Coupons!? Alright! That's worth the price of admission alone! I will definitely be going and I will report back to you guys how I liked it. It is on April 19-21 here in San Francisco.

            Also check out meetup.com and find a internet marketing meeting in the bay area. I've learned tons from meeting up with other people with the same interests and passions as me.

            You can find just about any type of meetup on this site. This will get you in touch with other online marketers...

    Go. You'll learn so much. You can take some of the big $$$ concepts these big dogs use and scale them for your own marketing. Keep your eyes open online. You can find free passes to the expo part of it. Search the websites of some of the sponsors. They will often offer a free pass for joining their list/newsletter etc....

    I go to Ad-Tech SF/NYC every year. The type of people who get most results are people who know exactly what they're going there for.

    aka: Networking with certain people to further their businesses.

    Just get the free pass. No reason to buy those seminar things and listen to all those dudes.
