Of over 1000 autoblogs I've created, only about 25 of them earn more than $10 a month.

My advice - if you're just starting and looking for a way to make money - don't waste your time with AB.

I have a spate of autoblogs and they do not do nearly as well as the real content niche blogs that I have created.

So if I was to offer you advice, I would say stick to real content and not scraper-style content.

My reasons for this are as follows:

* The search engines will love you for it.
* If you do your research you will rank easy (think longtail).
* Genuine, valuable content will forever remain king in the SERPS
* You do not need to overly optimize if you create useful, relevant content.
* Controlling LSI keywords is easier when you create your own content (vs autoblogging).
* Autoblogging is a lazy answer to making money online.
* Real niche content sites give you the opportunity to brand and position yourself within the market. Also, you can actually build a list with a niche content site (who would sign up to an autoblog list?)

It's all about credibility. With autoblogs you do not have that luxury.

So remember guys.... valuable niche content - keep it relevant and you'll easily make money.

There are no short cuts to creating wealth. It does require effort on your part.

AutoBlogs DO MAKE MONEY if your do them right!

I do agree that manually updated blogs make more money as they stand high in search engines. But how much can you possibly make from one blog? 10? 20? 30? or even 50 per day? To reach that level, expect yourself in updating your site with a minimum of 5 posts per day for atleast 3-5 years consistently..

But what if you could scale this? I know its impossible to create 5 or more blogs and update each of them with 5 posts per day all by yourself unless you dont get bored, you dont sleep eat and dream.. Not so practically possible right? That is where auto blogging comes in..

Simply throwing an automated blog with some plug-ins and forgetting it for life will not get you anything. You must create auto blogs in a way that they appear natural. Control whatever gets posted or possibly edit them a bit.. Semi-automated to be precise.. Then it gets easier, looks and works more like a manual blog, stands high in search engines and that is how you get successful..

Thanks for the info... Yes, managing many blogs with regular content is difficult to an extent and hence the craze about autoblogs.. Agree!

Let me make one thing clear though... If I do autoblogs, I will put in the effort that is required... I am not talking "Set and forget" autoblogs with no gains.. As mentioned in my earlier posts, I am willing to put in what it takes.. but I am not convinced to the point where I feel my efforts might be worth it on autoblogs.... :rolleyes:

p.s: Pointing to your WSO openly like this in a thread is a BAD practice..

I agree - stick to providing good, value-added content. I have used ABs but some of the blogs were so far wide of the mark it was causing more harm than good to my blogs/content.

Autoblogs for me will run the same as you run your blog it's just that everything goes on autopilot and everything has just been set and forgotten while it does its own job in place. To generate better income here though, what I would suggest are these things:

-You have to have good domain names and efficient hosting. Although starting out with a hundred autoblogs, it's easier to setup for free hosting with limited spaces.

-Have a basic knowledge of installing a Wordpress blog and I'm sure everybody does. It's the easiest customizable blog to manage around plus tools that'll get through your convenience.

-Choose autoblog-friendly plugins to enhance performances.

Once that's done in the initial process, it's a lot easier. But, I still recommend to go for implementing your sole niche site that caters everything around your expertise if you wish for better income.

Yes, that's preciously what I was asking.. Say I have couple of premium autblog plugins - wp robot or something, and few other plugins specific for autoblogs and well researched keywords - Plus a good budget to get the needed domians and hosting for all blogs..... Is $10/month/blog possible on an average...
From the first few replies, I get the idea that it is not possible.. I might be wrong.. Still open to comments

It IS possible - but highly unlikely and definitely not the way to focus on making money online if you're intending to create a proper business with controllable income.

I know you want to hear "yeah - you can make millions easily", but almost anyone who tells you that is probably selling something, so do what you know you should and think about building a proper business. You can use scripts and automation to do normal activities, just don't think scraping content is an easy answer to making money.

I have been in this forum for long enough to fall for something like that

I was just looking for exact opinions from people like you who already have handled these kind of blogs

I was just thinking of having ABs as one stream of income(not the main) if they are worth it.. Ofcourse, I have to work on each blog initially, promote those etc.. Just trying to find out if all those efforts are worth it or not..

I have plenty of autoblogs that make money (and some that don't

) but for each and every one of them I have put some work into promoting them. Usually that entails some social bookmarking and some article distribution.

I don't really see how an autoblog (or any blog for that matter) could make money with no promotion but would love to hear from people who have managed this.

So I guess the question is whether you want to put your efforts into doing a little bit of promotion on hundreds of blogs or a lot of promotion on just a couple.

Agree! Promotion is a must.. autoblogs differ from nornal ones only in the way the content is populated etc I guess... so, being scrapped content, selling things may not be easy.. but selling ad space/ adsense etc might be good options according to me.. Again, I don't have autoblogs and so can't confirm...

I do not think there is any website out there that has not start its way online without promotion. However, for making money with autoblogs I believe you must own tens, if not hundreds of those, not just one or two...

Autoblogs can work but you have to have a reason and strategy for using them. If you think you just let them run and everything happens automatically then you will make no or very little money. But if you are targeting specific keyword phrases for your blog title, categories, and product names and you work hard to build backlinks then you can rank them and make some money. Or you can use autoblogs to link to your money site, then you build backlinks to the autoblogs so they pass on link juice to your money site and it ranks well. They're good for that kind of thing, but you're not going to be able to just set up a bunch of autoblogs and retire on passive income.

Auto is a good niche if you are planning to make money blogging online. However, for the keen competition in this area, to gain a good SERP is a difficult thing for most people.

So, if you want to earn much income from this blogs relevant to Auto, then it may mean that many you must spend much time on SEO and online marketing.

I guess he is not talking about setting a blog in "Auto" Niche... Autoblog = Automated Blog, so all the contents are generated automatically.

In my opinion, autoblogs can make you money, but there are lot of factors involved such as niche, keyword targeting, on page and offsite seo and then monetization.

Also you need think on creating an army of autoblog to see some profits than just having couple of autoblogs
