Screenflow users - help needed

Hi guys,

I'm using Screenflow on my iMac now (love the software). I'm having a problem though.

This is really the only thing I hate about screenflow. They do not allow you to export in FLV format. That's really stupid.

Does anyone know a good and relatively easy way to convert F4V to FLV? Or even MOV to FLV?

I WAS using the flowplayer plugin with Wordpress and it was working just fine, it handled F4V. But today I activated a Google Website Optimizer plugin and it is not playing nice with flowplayer.

So I either can't run optimizer tests, or I can't play video. I chose to de-activate the testing for now because I don't want to be paying for PPC traffic to a video squeeze page that has no video

Marty - the file *already* works in Flowplayer but as I stated, I can't seem to use Flowplayer and Google Website Optimizer plugins together, one breaks the other.

So I need to convert to FLV so I can use an alternate video player. Nothing else supports F4V right now.

Marty: Interesting idea, I'll experiment with this!

Everyone: I converted from F4V to FLV using free PC software called SUPER. You can get it here:

    SUPER &copy

Just make sure to NOT download the most obvious link, which is an advertisement. You need to scroll to the bottom and follow a few links before you get the software because they are obviously monetizing the site with ads. This software was actually recommended by an outsourcing guru, and I finally decided to give it a shot.

For my iMac, I have Windows XP installed on it also, so this was not a problem.

    Hi Chris,

The latest upgrade for ScreenFlow added the ability to export as an FLV. Don't know whether that will cure your incompatibility with the tracking script.

    Chris,

which Flowplayer plugin are you using? There are two now - so, it's worth trying the "other one" before you change your workflow.

    Cheers,

H.264 MOV works in Flash. Does flowplayer plugin allow uploding MOV files?

The Wordpress viper plugin supports MOV files:

WordPress › Viper's Video Quicktags WordPress Plugins

I'm now using Easy Video Player which isn't free but works nicely with MOV files and Amazon S3. They use Flowplayer for the player. It generates the code, I just copy it and paste it into my Wordpress post or page editor.

Just some alternatives to messing with flash files or adding extra steps (converting video file to FLV).

I use the adobe flash cs3 video encoder.

There are newer versions now, but you can probably pick this up 2nd hand for less.

anyone recommend a video editor or screenflow expert. I have a video with my desk top showing in one part and would like to zoom in to expand the image which would eliminate the desktop showing. I have it in screenflow and .mov format.

        thanks

You can scale it up or down in video properties in screenflow. Select the screen recording in your time line editor. Then go to video properties on the right and scale it up. You can then move recording to adjust it how you want.

          Have you tried that?
