Please. Need Help. Me Need Learn Good

I've been run through the mlm ringer and am absolutely done with recruiting. I've turned to affiliate and cpa marketing, I LOVE the idea, I know it's something I'd be great at, I do have a program I've been learning from, but I seem to have hit a snag.

I'm in the process of uploading files into filezilla and hostgator and I realized (since things have obviously gone terribly wrong), sure, it's great to have some programs tell you to do this and that, but I want to be self reliant. I've been stuck on this same problem for a week now, and can't seem to find the right help. If I knew this stuff better, I'd be fine.

So, after that long-winded story.....is there a program or ebook or anything of good quality that is a great "bootcamp" of ftp, html, and all that good stuff? I've already had help several time from a few friends and hostgator chat, and they say things that I have not a clue what they're talking about and everything I'm looking at is like an alien language. I am seriously the type, where if I understood all these things and could operate on my own, I know I'd be a beast. Where can I learn? I checked the "For Dummies" site but it's all for mac, which I don't have.

The person who helps me could conceivably be a part of changing my financial life forever. Isn't that just magical?

Amazon.com: Web Design All-in-One For Dummies...Amazon.com: Web Design All-in-One For Dummies... not an affiliate link; that book has a ton of info and isn't for mac. I use it weekly :-)

Thanks guys. I'm picking up that book, I could probably use that for a while.

And, yea, I don't know what's going on. I have a template from a program, the video said just upload them, but it's not working, I see text but not the two images. When I bring up my site on chrome, I see the text and my web form, but not the two images. When I bring it up on firefox and aol I see the text, the image at the top is missing, and the second image, a red arrow pointing down, that's there, but the bottom of it is smudged and there's no web form or disclaimers and stuff at the bottom.

So, needless to say, I'm at a complete loss. I'm sure I did something wrong somewhere.

HAHAHA!! I know, right? The creepy new account guy with 3 posts wants my e-mail. Yea, that'll happen. Vil you rock, man! I'll be setting my stuff up tomorrow, or by the time you read this, today. My fire is back!

(He hooked me up big time, folks)

And Rosetrees, I'll take a look at that. I do know when I downloaded the template, I unzipped it with my WINRAR, which for some reason I don't particularly like, don't really have a reason yet, but I unzipped it and all the files came out together in one folder. I'll take another look, I do believe this will all be remedied very shortly thanks to everyones' help. But I did learn a bit from your post.

And to think I've avoided Warrior Forum for the last few months. Silly me.

I made a section & I think it's in module 2, it talks about the relationship between webpages and files in your public_html folder.

Should help you out. Glad we could help dude.

            Good Luck!!

The problem is making sure you upload the images with the same relationship to the web pages as they had on your computer when you first downloaded them.

So, for example. If you downloaded a FOLDER called images and separate webpages - on your computer these would all have been in a folder (we'll call it mynewesite).

So - the folder called mynewsite contains a SUBFOLDER with the images AND your web pages.

When you ftp these to your server you have to ftp the separate webpages and the FOLDER containing the images - all to the same place on your server.

      Hope that helps.

When you upload videos, images with your ftp client you want to check that it's set to auto as well, some things need to be uploaded in binary mode and if you set it to auto that will usually deal with that.
