Hi
I'm new to the whole IM thing but I fell like I have enough knowledge to start.
Although i have a few questions:

1: I'm planing on using wordpress for site/bloggbuilding but don't have enough money to buy a domainname yet, will it be hard for me to rank on the search engines with a name.wordpress.com domain?

2: How do i start to build my list? (what "tools" should/can i use?)

Thanks in advance
(and excuse my poor english)
/Izerman

    1. Yes you can definitely rank for keywords with a web 2.0 platform. However, I suggest you get yourself a domain as soon as you can.

    2. Using a service like aweber will help you build your list. If you can't afford aweber it, you can use a free service like Mailchimp.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Did you check out godaddy.com for domains? A .com domain is like $8.80 or so, that is not terribly much and it's absolutely worth it. For a start you could also take a .info domain, they are less than one dollar the first year. They need much more work than a .com domain to rank well in google but it is definitely better that no domain!

For list building, you should check out aweber. They are pretty much the cheapest and I would say the best service, too. The fist month only costs $1 and then it's $19 per month... I hope that works out for you!

      1. Do not use a free wordpress blog for marketing. It is against their TOS and your account will get suspended. You can list free information there, but you can not use affiliate links or "sell" with them. Consider looking into blogger or weebly for that.

      2. The best list building services will cost you some money (10-20 a month) so plan to budget for it.

I use godaddy for buying my domains. Im sure you can afford .99c - $1.99 for a .info domain. I know there is a lot of controversy over the .info domain but i have heaps of front page Google listings on .info domains so im not sure what the controversy is about....

I use Hostgator for hosting my .info's, seems cheap and unlimited sites etc, ive never had an issue with a site being down either

Hello Izerman, It's easy to get lost and reach nowhere when you begin IM as there are truck loads of information. I have a simple plan you can stick to to get your first hundred dollars in 30 days.

            1) Go find a good selling product at clickbank.
            2) Create a squidoo lens exclusively for rpomoting the affiliate product.
            3) Do some kyword research using free google keyword tool (hope you know it)
            3) Write articles on ezinearticles, promoting your product and link to your squidoo lens in the signature.
            4) Write articles everyday for 30 days, promoting the same product.
            5) Before the month end you must have minimum 30 articles written, which would have made you atleast 4-5 sales...

Now take that money, buy a domain and hosting... And go duplicate the entire process, but now with your own website...

    1. You can't squeeze together $4 or so for a keyword-centric domain? I used a netfirms coupon and got a .com for a year w/ included domain privacy. It's a huge mistake to set up your business on a site where you have virtually NO control! They can put you out of business at will.

    2. Optimize all your onpage factors for your keyword. Get backlinks to your site. A good way to do the backlinks is profile backlinks. Your site climbs in the SERPS. You get organic traffic. The traffic signs up to your list. They read your emails and maybe buy the stuff you offer.

Although without a good autoresponder (which is NOT free) I'm not sure how you can build a list.

Thanks for all the great info.
The reason why i said i wanted to wait before buying a domain.com is because i didnt know that it was that cheap.
I planed to use a swedish webhosting service (since im swedish) and it was a lot more expensive then the ones you guys mentioned, about 95-100 dollars with 1 year hosting.
