If you love watching videos like I do and you want a good player VLC is the one.

VideoLAN - VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player

Good for mac and pc and it is free.

"It plays everything!"

The media player that fills all your needs. It can handle DVDs, (S)VCDs, Audio CDs, web streams, TV cards and much more.

You don't need to keep track of a dozen codec packs you need to have installed. VLC has all codecs built-in. It comes with support for nearly all codec there is.

And what is more it can even play back the file or media if it is damaged! Missing or broken pieces are no stop to VLC, it plays all the video and audio information that's still intact.

VLC rawks - especially since it's the only player I can find that works on Windows that will open and play MP4 movies. WMP sure doesn't... *FAIL*

    Agreed - I love VLC.

I've used it for years and even been to dozens of big customers where their engineers use it in their broadcast systems.

You can also use VLC server to stream videos around your home network to watch on other PCs/Consoles.

    Hello,
GOM player is a more robust player for me, VLC seems to digitize more.

VLC Server sounds real interesting! Will look into that.

VLC is one of the first things I install when setting up a new computer. The other is 7Zip. 2 great programs that just do there job without hassle. I just hope they keep it simple and successful

The double speed feature on VLC is great for listening to tons of audio content every day like I do

  • When I post video files for download to my list I ALWAYS recommend VLC. I have been using it for the past few years and have yet to come across a video format it could not play.
