Many clicks but no conversions

I'm new at this ( 10 months and am doing CPA through TrafficVance on offers from QuikMedia,Maxbounty, Shareasale. I'm trying to be very targeted in my URL's, right down to the page, and while I get traffic, I don't get conversions.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve

Lonestar, I do some CPA stuff but agree with Alexa, its hard to diagnose without more specifics. Have you talked to your acct manager?...I'd recommend asking him/her if the offers you're promoting have a good conversion history with your specific kind of traffic.
Also, are these 'free offers' or s/h offers? First page submits or multiple pages?
There's so much difference in conversions when these factors are considered.

Hi to you both and thanks very much for responding.
      Here's a specific:
Shareasale, promoting Dr Sinatra health supplements. Specicifically a free trial of OmegaQ.
I am promoting both URL's ( not major root directories, specific pages ) and keywords that I derived from Adwords and a product called Laser keywords.
The affiliate mgr and I talked because they were seeing thousands of clicks and no conversions. This is a top 100 offer on Shareasale. He did a test purchase and the URL works. All he could suggest was to continue sharpening my URL's and keywords.
I use TrafficVance and LeadImpact as traffic sources.

      Any thoughts?

      Thanks again,
      Steve

Sounds like you're going with keywords that are searched by people that are interested to find out more, but not quite ready to buy. I would say try to optimize your keywords a little bit more. For example, if someone is searching for "OmegaQ best price" or something of that sort, it's much more likely that they're looking to buy, whereas someone else who searches "OmegaQ ingredients review" is looking rather for information and is not yet quite at the stage to buy the product. Hope this helps.

Just a thought but alot of the ppv cpv networks from what I have heard are typically a younger demographic, they might not be interested in OmegaQ. Maybe research how the network gets their customers and find an offer more geared towards that crowd.

Assuming your traffic quality is good, 100 click-thru's are not enough to gauge whether or not a marketing campaign is working. I always tell my clients, wait until you've received a minimum of 1000-2000 click-thru's before you make any adjustments. Here's why: You might not get a single sale in the first 100-200 click-thru's. But in the next 100-200 click-thru's, you could get 10 sales. That's marketing. You just never know in which batch of hundreds those sales are going to be in. Again, assuming your traffic quality is good. That's why it's important not to overreact.

I don't know about TrafficVance, but I know that Leadimpact is pay per view.

Although people said they've had a lot of luck with it, I just don't trust "pop up marketing". It's just too easy for people to close the pop up. Even though advertising with it is seriously cheaper than pay per click marketing.

While there's nothing wrong with advertising pharmaceuticals, do realize that people are still skeptical about it because of the **** Berry controversies. Some web 2.0 platforms like Squidoo will NOT let you promote any type of pharmceuticals, doesn't matter if its a fat pill or not.

So even though it may be the best converting product statistically, just keep in mind that people are still skeptical.

You way want to create your own blog or landing talking about the product, reviewing its pros and cons. If you want to encourage people to buy pharmaceuticals like that, you really need to go into detail about their benefits.

        Or...

Choose a different CPA product to promote like downloads, ringtones or something.

This is true - I've recently started promoting a CB product via article marketing. My first hundred clicks I got 7 sales! Woo hoo a 7% conversion rate I thought. The next 200 clicks I got zero sales! The last 100 clicks I've had 4 sales. So its gradually averaging out.

        Regards

Ya. A lot of people who do clickthroughs are just browsing and not ready to buy. Try targetting different keywords or a different product.

Lonestar, another reason you may not be getting any conversions may be the direct result of fraud views. Many PPV/CPV networks are plagued with publishers committing fraud views. They are sending bots with unique IP addresses to your page instead of real people. Use a tracking software like prosper202 to track your referrers.

    no realistic actual example here..
i agree that some of ppv network working in a different way..

    i'm working with LeadImpact here..
    1) i just a week subscribe this PPV networks.. got 1000's hits.. still no sales..
    2) did anything going wrong here.. landing pages ?? wrong keywords ??

so.. i think no success model as a role here.. ?
bcause some of you keep posting the idea.. not he real answers....btw nobody want to steal somebodys customer.. the market share is global...not congested like Hawaii ISland
