How to create a websensation?
They must be difficult or we'd see more websensations.
I've only created one websensation in my lifetime and it wasn't that big. It only boosted my traffic about 10k for a couple days till it sizzled. And that was on accident. I just so happen to have wrote a guitar story about an iconic guitarist who happened just so happened to make his own signature guitar. It was a luck of timing thing.
Remember last year the big web sensation about the claims of these two hunters shot big foot and stored it in a big butcher cooler. They shot some low res images and refused to let the media come see it because they were afraid the government would confiscate it... or something like that. It was huge news for about 5 days, and even bigger when it was announced that it was a hoax.
Hoax websensations are not too cool, but i'm sure it was cool to stir it up for those guy's 15 minutes (or 2 weeks) of fame.
Another one, which seemed to be effective, was someone made a video of an ipad in a kitchen blender... that YouTube video created over 200 million views.
An ipad costs about $500 bucks.. but branding your name by 200 million views is priceless!
