What is the best way for me to get started in the Internet Marketing niche

I understand that it is easier to choose a less popular niche but i really want to get started and involved in the IM niche.

The reason why is because i have a lot of ideas for future products i would like to create and sell.

Anyway my questions are:

What is the best way to start?
Are there keywords out there that are still profitable to use?
What are the best methods to advertise my site?

I would really appreciate your thoughts and advice on this.

Kind regards

Best advice is to provide value first.

give away as much free advice as you can to get your name out there and brand yourself as an expert.

The best way to get started is have a look at some of the products and products launches in this niche.

Find a sub-niche within the niche for instance a big one at the minute is the recession.

Make a report that tells people how to "Beat the recession" and offer a good value report with techniques that work.

Offer the report from a squeeze page so you are also building a list as well.

Then if you get a good response with a lot of subscribers and interest build a full product and IM Marketing course on how to beat the recession.

Then contact people in the same niche and do a JV/ list swap.

Rinse and repeat with any niche you want!

        Hope this helps!

articles and videos about 5 per day untill you get to about 100 of each direct all of that traffic to a lead capture page where you offer a 7 day boot camp or mastermind course of some kind just for opting in. Build your list and provide good information with your email course or newsletter so when you do release your products you can release directly to your list which you have already built a relationship with and maybe get some jv partners

I'm usually NOT the kind of guy to be negative or discourage anyone from chasing a dream... hell I did it, have done it a couple of times.

    BUT

You're gonna get your ass kicked... and soundly.

Wanna know why the top gurus offer what appears to be 'secret weapons' to us little guys?

They tactic being offered for sale has already been
    • Used up
    • milked for all it's worth
    • is no longer a secret
    • already too many others have hit on the same idea (independently) and what was so lucrative is now reaching a diminishing rate of return
Geez, I didn't realize how cynical I was until I just read what I really do believe.
I use this forum, value this forum, and freely give advice if I can from my own personal expirience (in Addiction forums we're encouraged to offer Experience, Strength and Hope)...

that said... let's say you come up with an idea, it's a neat twist on an existing setup/ opportunity/ niche/ widget/ product/ service WhatEver:

    You post the idea here.

A more experienced marketer with the bankroll to be able to afford assistants, programmers to code, money to spend on ads, adwords, has more than one dedicated server that has the ability to host 255 domains...

They'll take your idea and out perform you in spades.

Is this cruel and unusual treatment?

Is this the oligarchy stepping on us lowly peons?

    Nope

it's free enterprise at it's finest.

Civil War annecdote: "My Daddy told me whoever gets there the firstes with the mostes WINS"

Am I attempting to discourage you (or the other newbies here) from posting?

NO, just watch what you say and who you're saying it in front of... and take what you learn here to the part of the pond where the BIG Fishermen are NOT fishing... they'll leave you some scraps as long as they aren't aware that you're there.

There are so many ways to enter this arena. You want to make
sure that you pick a niche that you are passionate about.

    What is your profession?

If you have a skillset then you can create a business model around that skillset.

Your story will help product sales so try to pick a niche that you
are closely tied to and that supports your story.

    Hope that helps.

  • The best way to start in the Internet Marketing niche is to work hard for many years at actually marketing products and services online.

Then you can come back and actually teach something valuable.

You can also join a membership site and sell PLR products, but make sure you get unrestricted rights for one or more products so you can make changes to them. Some membership sites give you a copy of the sales page so all you have to do is to get a domain. You can use the edited restricted PLR to post a WSO here to see if it will sell. Just my take for something other than affiliate marketing.

Agreed. Create something unique and valuable. Follow up with a blog and social bookmarking addons to help get links to your site. I have been doing this for 12 years and I am still learning, so be strapped in to your seat it will be a long ride :-)

Unfortunately (and I mean this in the nicest possible way) if you don't know the answer to those questions you're better off keeping away from the IM niche - you just won't be able to compete.

In the IM niche you have to build a name for yourself, and one of the best ways to do this is to give away alot of quality information for free before you try to start selling to people.
