Free tracking software - better than analytics?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi, I'd like some better tracking software than google analytics.Ideally same day information. I understand that Tracking 202 is the best free software on the market at the moment, but it's mainly for PPC and I'm not clever enough to figure out how to utilise it for free traffic!

Is there another piece of kit out there that anyone recommends mainly for free traffic?

As you said, Tracking 202 (or Prosper 202) is great for PPC. However, I don't know of a better option for free traffic than Google Analytics... Why are not you satisfied with it?

It's mainly same day stats I'm after and a couple of people have told me it's not very accurate?

better tracking software?
GA is pretty good if you get to know the system in depth.
What exactly do you want to know besides same day stats?
I have a custom "Who's Online" I use for watching current visitors.

I use http://piwik.org/ on my sites and it's very powerful. It's opensource and reports are on real time

awstats in your cpanel will give you info you need to track your free visitor.

There are a number of open source software packages that can analyse your own server logs. Can be updated almost in real time too. Final solution depends on exactly what information you feel that you need.

  I find that Statcounter is pretty good and the figures are reasonably accurate when compared to awstats inside my cpanel.
  
  Give it a try anyway...
