Sorry am sure this has been hammered many time here before but i couldn't find via searching.

i am about to built a small minisite a la Xfactor. i've got what looks to be a killer keyword, have several related phrases for related content, got the domain and so am quite excited.

if it is a flyer there are many related keywords i can use so although the site will initially be small (5-20 pages) if it flies i may expand it considerably.

when i start publishing content to the site is it best to go for pages or posts in WP?

    Post definitely.

I only use pages for my protected membership materials. Anything I want to drive traffic to is a post.

    Both work.

However, with posts you can rank for better keywords.

Put 3 or so posts in a category, each post targeting long tail keywords.

Category itself targeting a more broad term.

Posts can build relevancy on each other, where as pages cannot.

Pages are dedicated to one single idea built on top of nothing else but your main domain.

Posts are dedicated to multiple ideas built on top of multiple categories, thus enhancing your sites SEO as a whole and giving you the ability to target MORE keywords per say.

I go posts all the way.
