Joomla Sites

Hi Warriors,

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has run joomla sites and can recommend where I can get a beginners guide to getting a site going.

I am doing a forum, so I basically want to learn how to run a forum and how to update blogs, articles etc on a joomla site.

If any of you know of an easy to follow guide I would appreciate it.

    I just set up my first Joomla site, and it was much easier than any previous time. I think that using Joomla 1.5 is one thing that made it easier. Things were just more intuitive, but it still took some trial and error to figure out how it all works together.

    I set up Joomla 1.5 with PHPBB3, using a bridge from Rocketwerx - RokBridge Overview

    For the articles, I finally figured out that you can have multiple categories in a section, and multiple articles in a category. It's a one to many relationship in that way.

    How I set it up:
    Section: Debt Management
    Categories: Credit Consolidation Companies
    Contacting Creditors

    etc...

    Then you can have multiple articles in each category.

    Anyway, that's a real basic overview. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm no expert yet, but I have a pretty good handle on what's going on.

      Hi Phil,

      I have a guide that should help. The only thing that I don't cover is blogs since I have not used them.
      I mainly focus on building a local portal but it covers forums and content. I think if you read it you will be able to add a blog. I will also be glad to try and answer any specific questions you might have.
