Getting To The Next Level

I'm working on taking my websites to the next level. I've gone from zero to $1795.56 last month in a little over a year. I'm very encouraged with my progress, but am looking for additional ideas.

Currently, 90%+ of my revenue comes from my main blog at 20smoney.com in the form of advertising and some sponsored posts. I have a couple niche adsense sites that are doing decent, including one that i finally got on the front page of search for the main keyword. I think the future is promising but as I move forward I welcome additional suggestions from the experienced folks here on the forum.

A couple ideas,

1. adding a forum to my main blog at 20smoney - the blog is well established and gets 500-600 visitors a day (1000-1100 page views) and i think it might be an opportunity to expand it with a forum. Any thoughts?

2. Continue adding niche sites and possibly another blog (although I'll need to hire writers for the new blog since I don't have the time to maintain another blog)

Do you have any suggestions? I appreciate all your input!

First off, congratulations on what you have done so far!

From your post it sounds like you are using SEO to drive traffic to your offers. This is a great method (I do it myself) but if it is your sole source of traffic/income you should now take this opportunity to diversify your traffic and revenue streams. You could be one algo change away from a big cut in pay.

Now you have some money coming in, I would recommend looking at generating money from paid advertising. Nothing is ever 100% reliable but at least setting up a second revenue stream would give you some stability. If one goes, you still have the other.

Also, now you have some success and know what you are doing promoting other peoples products, I would consider creating your own product or look at re-branding rights to someone elses product to sell as your own. This will allow you to create your own downstream of affiliates and resellers.

Good luck taking it to the next level.

Well most of it comes from my regular blog which is a combination of traffic (direct, referrals, search) - i have a slew of advertisers who pay me which is where most of the money comes from.

Like you said, I think i need to potentially develop a product, but it's very hard to figure out a product that hasn't already been created 500 times.

I would like to do an e-book at some point with exact details how I've gone from 0-$1500 a month in online income, but not sure if that is unique enough yet as well.

Again, your suggestions are very much appreciated.

      Thanks

Thats not bad from only 5-600 a day, keep going as you are and try improving on your SEO and SERPs to increase form 5-600 a day to 5-6000 a day and maybe give PPC a go to help achieve.

First off well done, you have taken action unlike the majority.

The first thing I would do is to set up some kind of email capture to build a mailing list, you could have had thousands of subscribers by now.

This is good advice. If you already have been creating a list then look at listswaps to rapidly increase size of list and income.

Can you start accumulating email addresses on an email list without having to pay for an email list service such as aweber?

          Any suggestions?

          Thanks

You have an average of 2 page views per unique visitor. if you make a forum your visitors will visit more pages and you'll also have the emails of the registered members. The challenge is choosing the right sections for the forum and populating them with attractive content.
