Ping.fm vs. OnlyWire

What is the difference between Ping.fm and Onlywire. Should I use one or the other? Thank you in advance for the help.

    OnlyWire is for Social Bookmarking Sites-- these are lists of links curated by you and shared with "friends". A link to bookmark/reference is required.

    Ping.fm is for your Social Sites such as photo sharing sites, microblogging/status update sites, and additional blogs. Ping.fm will allow you to add up to a full article "post" to a site. No link required.

    I use both to build backlinks and they do very well. I use ping.fm with my RSS feed.

      As an aside, Onlywire has the WP plugin only for blog posts, not for articles posted to your site. For the articles you do it manually at the onlywire site, but it is pretty quick and easy.

    Since onlywire has a 300 limit for the free account, you can use the services that double up on ping.fm on ping.fm only and keep the credits for onlywire for services that are not ping.fm supported.

    Rashell is correct only wire is for social bookmarking. Ping.FM can send out your articles to web 2.0 sites. You may also want to look at

    I have used OnlyWire but don't like how the posts appear on Facebook as coming from Onlywire. It also has the limit for free accounts. I may try SocialMonkee and see if I like that better.

    Or maybe one of these submitters when i have a new SEO post that I want 15-20 social media links for, but for most posts it ain't that hard to auto-login on Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Reddit, and the other 1-2 that actually seem to make a difference in traffic and getting your content read by live people.

    Ping.fm is for updating social networking sites like twitter and facebook all at once. Onlywire is for updating social bookmarking sites.

    I have used both. Onlywire is nice because it has a plugin you can add onto WP and then whenever you make a post it will automatically post to Onlywire.

    on the other hand onlywire is a social bookmarking service.

    the purpose of both is almost the same.

    Since onlywire has a 300 post limit in the free version, you can disable the overlap in Onlywire and post to the overlapping sites with ping.fm instead. The post limit in Onlywire is per single submission to *one* site, not per URL you promote so you can save a few submissions this way.

    both are a little different, onlywire is posting your post url to several social networking sites, it has also button feature which you can use on your post.

    Ping.fm for indexing purposes I would say.
