Sorry for bugging you guys with questions. I really feel like a pain the backside now, lol.

USP, Unique Selling Proposition, is this basically outlining/summarizing what you bring to the table and how you can benefit the potential customer?

Is this used for your own personal use when creating copy for a product? Sort of like if someone said to you "I'm in a hurry, so explain to me in 30 seconds what your product can do for me?". But also including your unique position in the market that sets you aside from competition?

Anyone care to provide a good example of a USP? Don't need to be your own, just chose a random topic.

I feel like a burden at the moment.

The most important word in the phrase is Unique...

It's more than just what the product/service brings to the
table and how it benefits the customer... it's what differentiates
    you from the competition.

I represent a company that provides a system for logging into
a website to send unique custom greeting cards... one or 1000...
at the click of a button.

Our USP is that we provide something you already use better,
faster and cheaper than anyone else in the market.

Thank you Tsnyder. So would you use the USP you have drafted on paper in the copy, but elaborate on it?

A good USP does two things: States how you provide a solution that removes a problem for your client and shows that you are the only one that does that solution in such a way.

Problem = Needing to send packages overnight to a client that MUST be there the next day before noon...but frustrated with the Postal Service losing packages or not arriving on time

Solution = Federal Express: When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight.

I always think of it as a UPS - my unique position for selling.

How is what you're offering different (read better) than what other people in your market are selling?
