I Don't Want Your Emails

You know what really pisses me off? Those guys that send you an email promotion day after day after you get on their list.

This is what I call a F'kin bad sales man...

You have to treat your future customers with utmost respect and get them to like you, not find you annoying... So guys... provide info, and lot's of good info, then try and put a TINY sales pitch at the end . Trust me, you'll see better conversion rates.

Just something I noticed today...

Too many e-mails that I didn't pay attention to and just deleted.

Btw... start getting "off" all those lists people have you on... It saves a BUNCH of time, lots of space, and makes you focus more... and more focus means more money. So focus and make money, don't doodle and regret the time you've wasted

I know this is said so often, but the things that are said the most often usually have a much deeper meaning to it,

that you can only understand once you've really "experienced" the meaning of the saying

Have a good one

It's one thing to get a bunch of people subscribed to your list, but it's another thing to keep a relationship with those people. I plan to send 2 emails, 3 max per week. And I'm only going to send promotional offers every few emails. What good is a large list if nobody trusts you and reads your emails? It's quality over quantity in this game.

I have one person emailing me daily and when I try to unsubscribe it tells me my email address doesn't exist. Now that is annoying. I can't get off the mailing list because my address doesn't exist, yet it exists enough to send me emails everyday. I have no idea how to get rid of that one.

      Hi Kim,
Im probably stating the obvious here but have you tried sending him/her a personal email stating your concern?

Im relatively to new to this game. I had actually planned on starting in 2006 but due to personal circumstances I had to put it on hold. This is the model that I will now be using. Weekly newsletters followed by a maybe a promotion once every 6-8 weeks.

I blogged about the annoying deceptive email subjects a few days ago.

I unsubscribe from the lists of marketers who spam.

The worst ones were the ones promoting some infamous BlueFart script, after hundreds of refunds and negative reviews were public. I can't believe they had the face to promote it after all that s...storm. I warned my subscribers away from that terrible product let alone promoting it (and some of them were upset with me for not warning them earlier)

I hate it when people promote crap products they never used for a quick buck.

After being bombarded with so much spam, I made it a policy not to promote anything I have not personally used and good results. I promote only my own products and a few good friends whose products I have personally used.

Affiliate marketing is not what it used to be anymore.

Gurus have millions of subscribers, so they can afford to promote whatever. Even if 0.01% of it converts, they still make good money. Not so much likely to squeeze tons of cash anymore with small lists unless you have a super targeted list in a non-IM niche.

I hate it when "marketers" use the word spam to mean "emails I dont like or want"

As far as the topic, let me share my resent experience for MY list...

If I email 2-3 times a week I make more per email as opposed to daily, multiple times a day, etc.

However, if I email 2-3 times every day, I make more for the week.

So... which is better? More per email or per week? I'll take the per week.

My unsubscribes are about the same for both.

It ain't the amount of emails sent....it is the quality of the emails. Those guys rely on list volume. Most marketers wouldn't have the drive (or guts) to do what those guys do. I am not saying be like them. I just understand that to each their own, right?

Personally, I like Paul Myer's newsletter business model. But that's just me. Plus, my ego would get in the way of the low open rates associated with the mass volume emails sent daily strategy.

You signed up for their mailing list. It's your option to unsubscribe if you don't like the way they run their business, but it is their business to run as they see fit.

I happen to agree with you 100% that they are shooting themselves in the foot, but it is their business ... and their foot. I will let you in on a well-known secret though...

If you're spending your time starting threads complaining about what other people are doing, you're not building your own business. What you spend your time doing will determine YOUR success ... or lack thereof.

You don't like getting mails? UNSUBSCRIBE and stop whining about it.

I'm sure the people making what some would call decent money (Tellman Knudsen and Shawn Casey come to mind) would laugh all the way to the bank on your "Trust me, you'll see better conversion rates" advice.

To put it bluntly as I can, let me give you two scenarios...

1: I'm making $200 a week and no one is unsubscribing. I'm not 'offending' anyone, I'm being 'good'.

2: I'm making $2000 a week and also losing 100 subscribers per week. I'm obviously pissing someone off.

Well, I'm taking and sticking with scenario 2 without a doubt. the 100 that unsubscribe can take a hike. They are not the 'buyers' I want on my lists.
You can find the above quote if you search long and hard enough in the War Room materials. You'll find it comes from someone who makes more money at marketing on the internet than is comprehensible.

    Whose advice should I follow?

Kim, I got on a couple of different lists like that. One said my email didn't exist. The other said I was unsubscribed, but kept mailing anyway.

Now I set up filters for those two senders which trash the email on receipt - I never see them unless I have to dig through the trash for something.

But some of these jerks don't have unsubscribe links. Or if they do, like said above, it doesn't work. So we get junk mail just like the phone cold-callers who never stop trying. Pathetic.

I have a question. When you get on a list that doesn't let you unsubscribe, what do you do?

I'm on a list and I tried to unsubscribe, but like a previous poster said, I could not.

I then emailed the guy directly, twice, and got no response. I can filter out the emails, of course.

Is there any other action I can take. I can always click spam in my email, but does that do anything?

Can I contact the autoreponder he uses and complain to them?

How do I get the jerk to unsubscribe me?

I think the same way with email "marketers". You should know it's much more effective to send an email once/maybe twice a month than multiple emails a week. You dilute your chances of me clicking on the email when I open up my side account every 2 weeks and see 10 emails piled up. If I see 1, I'm much more likely to open. If I see more, then your credibility goes out the window.

That's the beauty of gmail. One filter and they are gone. I never do this, however, it is an option.

Yeah, I generally email my list on deals I'm only offering them or WSO's with incentives for the list only.

If they don't like what I offer, than I'd suggest they would just unsub and move on..Rather have people saying WOW what a deal..Other than saying when is the next email for free stuff....

    But yeah...Just unsub, ..

Kim, report it to the host or use spamcop (who i dislike) but it will email their host and them.

I had to do this when a warriors remove link was a 404 and replies to his email had an auto-reply saying to open a support ticket. Which meant I had to create an account. So I created one at spamcop instead.

Look, EVERYONE wants to be free, meaning we all need a decent income stream to live on in the USA or equivalent country in relative personal freedom. It's a universal BIRTHRIGHT...

We are blessed to have this opportunity to make money in this way, whereby we don't have to go to a job to get it...

In time, when we ALL wise up, we won't use each other anymore, and grant these freedoms to each other out of common decency, and mutual respect, minus all the hype and BS everyone is engaged in currently...

Until then, let's not hammer each other and use each other by pounding one another with emails viciously promoting our products in a violent manner to get ahead...

Time is precious, and if you're sending out more than 1 newsletter/offer per week or two you're abusing others....

People need to breathe, (clean mountaintop air), so show some respect!
