You can build the squeeze page as an additional page to your main site.

eg
www.MyDomain.com/audiomp3.htm (if offering an mp3 recording)
www.MyDomain.com/Free-report.htm (if offering a free pdf)
www.MyDomain.com/12ways.htm (if offering a free pdf- 12 ways to xyz)

You don't necessarily have to have a separate site for this squeeze page.

One option is you can use the squeeze page as the first part of the sales process, and then you can redirect them to your blog. That is one option, there are others too.

Best way to build a good email list is thru facebook / linkedin . Just put msgs offering whatever niche your doing ppl will singup

Don't forget free eclasses, free eseminars, free 'solutions to the problem that's plaguing you RIGHT NOW' etc.

One thing I've learned, however, is that you also should keep multiple email lists for specific purposes.

One for your affiliates
One for customers of Product 1, another for Product 2, etc.
One for weekly giveaways
etc.etc.etc.

Getting all that backend AR stuff is difficult, I'll certainly admit...but once the groundwork is in place, it gets far easier.

Barbling's advice is sound - to get people to cough up an email you have to offer something in return. Something they want NOW, not just something they might like in teh future.

Yeah, people love free stuff and contest. Find a useful ebook or some sort of esolution that people would get after registering to your site.

I place my squeeze page as an additional page on my domain... Free Personal Development Newsletter

Then I use google xml sitemap wordpress plugin to set the priority of my squeeze page to 0.9

So when you do a search for my Personal Development Blog | Personal Development for the Book Smart you will see the squeeze page in the search results as well =)
