Hi, I'm a bit confused and hope you can help me.

I've read threads on WF which say that you should have a user name which relates to the niche you are trying to promote etc. Then others say that you should try different niches.

Does this mean that I have to create several accounts with a different user name for each niche? Say, for Clickbank or a discussion forum- will they allow you more than one account? Also, how does this get you known when you are using different user -names?

If I buy a product that I can add my own name to as the author (the seller allows this), do I use my real name on this or my user name? Which do people trust more? Are there any disadvantages to using your real name on products or should you get known out there?

grateful for any advice you can give me

Cheers LC

    Hi LC
If you are trying to establish yourself as a "Expert" in your chosen niche/s then IMO use your real name.

Funny enough Ed Dale talks about this in the 2010 30 Day challenge, "Ed's first rule of creating an online persona is to just be yourself"

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I think you misunderstood the idea... It is not about usernames on different sites. It is about name(s) on your sales pages.

Let's say I am a WP "expert" with my real name (the one that I use here) and tomorrow I start selling an advice book for (female) breast cancer survivors. That target audience would not trust me... why should they? What does this 'wordpress guy' know about breast cancer? - that's what they would say if googling my name

But I could create an "online persona", e.g. a female name+picture etc. that would be an expert in that niche. Of course, I could simply use my wife's name because she is one: expert and survivor.

    Does this help?
