Hi Warrior help is need please.

So far I have not taken action, by that I mean I look at WSO or other strategies constantly so decided to START with affiliate marketing to get an idea of marketing skills. I'm getting to the point... So I'm going to buy a domain and build a website etc but the Question is: do I go with Hostgator, Wordpress, Fantastico etc etc.

Advice welcome

All those stuff are different things and do different things.
    Get a domain at namecheap.com
Buy a hosting package at Hostgator.com (if that's the host you choose)
Make a website... now, this becomes more complicated: you can make a simple website made up by HTML pages (if you know how to do it) or you can use a CMS (=content management system) like WordPress or others. Be prepared for a learning curve!

(Fantastico is just a tool at most hosts that have cPanel to make it easier the installation of certain scripts, like WordPress, for example...)

I would definitely recomment Hostgator. They are cheap and easy to work with.

Like Istvan said, Fantastico is just a tool that is already installed on your hostgator account that makes installing some applications (such as Wordpress) super easy.

Using WP out of the box is pretty easy. But you are going to want to learn how to do more such as changing the default appearance and learn how to install helpful plugins. I would spend some time browsing the documentation on wordpress.org and playing with your blog (hehe) for a couple of days to get the feel for it if you are blogging newbie.

You decided to jump into affiliate marketing. Congratulations! At lease you decided quickly what you want to do, but my friend you are looking at one side of coin. You have decided to just create website with full of affiliate links. You should see other side of a coin which is how you are going to promote your website or affiliate products. This is the most crucial part of Internet marketing. You can go with following methods -
      1) PPC - Pay per cost (Google adword) - You should have vast experience and good budget to spend.

      2) Article Marketing - Minimum writing skill, low budget or free tactic, but you have to invest TIME and Patience!

      3) Forum Marketing

      4) blogging
      5) Search engine traffic (Learn SEO)

      I think you got point.
