    -Grabs the reader's interst and keep him/her reading
    -If spoken word, well recorded so is still sounds good over traffic noise in a car
    -no "uh, you know, well like you know" and other vocalized pauses
    -Gives the reader/listener/user something that actually works as advertised
    -Is the real solution to a buyer's problem(s)
    -Has a bit of an "ah-ha" factor or "wow" factor to the user
    -really does what it is supposed to do

      That's probably the only thing you needed to say Don! If it does what it's supposed to do (as it's claimed to do), then it's a perfectly fine product.

    Entertaining.

    There's no shortage of stuff out there that has all the high-quality information and top-drawer service you can ask. What we do have a shortage of is information that isn't irrepressibly drab and awful.

    We keep saying the same thing over and over again, not because people don't know it, but because their eyes glaze over every time we try to tell them about it. Product after product after product covers the same old ground, time and time again, because three pages into the ebook you simply stop paying attention. It's just plain dreadfully dull.

    Which is why newbie after newbie after newbie buys the same damn information, over and over again, until eventually he starts refunding within minutes because he already knows everything in the product.

    We've spent a lot of time blaming those newbies for not taking action, but I think on some level we - as product creators - have to start accepting some of the blame for not inspiring them.

    Step by step - don't leave anything out

    Free and easy is usually appealing

    Not being afraid to be a person in the products you create - let people know you make the odd mistake yourself some times, but then twist that around to show how you have overcome it and how they can too

    - Gives one clear path (rather than several muddier paths).

    - Motivates you to take action.

    - A step-by-step plan ... do this, do this, do this and then do this.
