Absolutely you do! Judging by your sample, you are an excellent writer - the kind that could command $20 or more for an article.

I also sell PLR (and buy if for my own personal projects) so take it from someone who knows - your PLR would be top quality if it's all written like that.

Hi Elizabeth, I too am setting up a PLR site and my problem is the pricing and should I specialize in one or two areas. Tiffany Dow's $1 per page seems a little low to me, but I must do more research. As for writing, I have written all my life, stories, novels, screenplays - just about everything. I do promote my own website, blog and write for EZA and Squidoo. Thus far, everything I have written about has been my choice. I think the hard part will be writing about something that I don't want to write about particularly, and has already been beaten to death! I am avoiding Clickbank prods for that reason. I'm sorry, I just find the stuff in there so cheesy. Your writing looks good BTW.

Wimbledon, your passion for writing jumps of the screen.

I will admit, I can't write a story to save my life. Although I love to READ fiction, the side of the brain needed for story writing, I don't have.

It certainly is easier to write about things we know, huh? Though I must say I really do enjoy researching topics I know nothing about. My Grandpa always used to say "you learn something new everyday." - ain't that the truth!

Your writing is very good. Almost too good for PLR. The sample article would be usable without alteration.

$1 per page for PLR isn't too bad. Remember, you may sell the exact same thing 20 times or more. Sell a 5-article pack for $5 and do it 20 times. It works out to $20 per page. That's ~$0.04 per word, or about four times what many writers get marketing their writing services to other marketers.

I think you are probably right John, now all I have to figure out is what my first pack should be about, there's so much to choose from. Perhaps I will offer my first pack for free in the WSO to give people an idea of what I can do. Hopefully they will sign up for my email list - take the bait so to speak!

I think your article is great overall, and you've done a good job with the keyword loading. Are you writing from scratch or spinning?

Putting on the picky hat, there are a few instances where your sentence construction is not quite spot-on (lacking commas in places), and I noticed one slightly odd word choice:

"will certainly exasperate your Raynaud's symptoms"

Exacerbate or aggravate would be more usual choices than exasperate (IMO), but it's not an incorrect use of the word, just slightly odd.

That said, if you can turn out work of this standard relatively quickly, I think you should certainly look into article writing as a means of earning some cash. Best of luck

Ruby, how funny - now I can't take my eyes off the word "exasperate" - and you are right on! Keep wearing the picky hat.

No, I never spin articles. I've tried it but found it takes much more work to re-write a spun article than it does to research and write an original.

I also prefer to research a topic myself and write an original article. I find the researching good fun and mentally stimulating and I like to let my inspiration flow freely without being impacted by another writer's style.
You've definitely got what it takes to be a professional writer. Your article is interesting, well organized and easy to understand for a layman who knows nothing about the topic of Raynaud's Disease.

I did notice one mistake, though -- Reynaud's instead of Raynaud's once. Also, in the first sentence, "are" is unnecessary.

Just very minor things that, clearly, most people don't notice, so I really think you're potentially a top-tier article writer.

Cindy, actually I did all of the research on Raynaud's as a result of my own fingers growing numb quickly. I figured while I had all of my findings sitting in front of me, I may as well write an article about it!

I'd certainly buy PLR from you (if it was in one of my niches).

And I'm raising my glass to toast someone else who likes to do research! Yay!

As far as having what it takes - You have to keep writing and putting out packs, and that takes discipline. Plus it makes sense to write for the niches that are the most popular; the ones that are crying out for fresh content, right? So that means writing on topics that might not be your favorite.

But it's not enough to just write the PLR articles and hope people will find your site and purchase - you have to really work on the marketing end of it.

You don't have to sell your articles at $1 each. I raised my prices to $1.25/article and have actually seen an increase in sales. I believe Nicole Dean's EasyPLR also charges more than $1/page. As with any product, test your price points.

Hi Again,

So, I did it - I launched my PLR site and I am ready to start writing!

What a HUGE motivator all of your positive comments have been. I can't thank you all enough.

I've named my site "Modern PLR" - I thought the word "modern" reflects well the type of PLR I will write - fresh and original. Plus all the other good names were taken.

I'm working on my first pack right now called "Healthy Digestion". I would love to hear from you guys what topics you need. So, if you get a second come by ModernPLR and let me know.

Well done for getting started.

I could put on my editor's hat and say "lots of run-on sentences and bad parallelisms" but you have to remember that PLR should be changed by the buyer, so these are only small issues (opps, a run-on, lol). The buyer should be taking what they need from your articles and not simply re-posting them as is.

So concentrate on writing articles with lots of info and stop worrying about "the small stuff" as they say - good luck.

A "professional article writer" - that has a nice ring to it.

Research for an article like this takes me about an hour and another hour for the writing. I'm thinking I'll need to speed that up to churn out my PLR packs - but I'm sure the more I do it, the faster I'll get at it.

One thing I do that helps tremendously in my research is searching Google for .pdf versions of the topic. The information I find in .pdf's seems well-researched and concise (especially for health topics). I'll load the .pdf's in my browser and scan through them. It is SO much easier than weeding through the normal search results and jumping from web page to web page.

And lately I've been sending .pdf's to my Kindle so I can read them anywhere. It's a great tool, I'm getting so much use out of it.

I'll also head to the library, take down a few books on the subject and start researching (just like the old days). I love libraries in general - so this is actually a treat for me.

Oh, and with regards to my writing - I ALWAYS leave it for a day and come back to it. The first draft is just a dump of what I've learned through my research and the writing is usually quite pathetic. The next day, I focus on the writing and the grammar - that process goes quite quickly.
