Okay, I may be the least techie guy on this entire forum, so go easy on me, but it seems like you're saying one doesn't need Kajabi (the "pretty bobble") to do the things it does, because you could easily do the same with existing tools, or hire a Warrior to do it. I would gladly hire a Warrior if someone could do ALL the things it took an hour to elaborate, not just the couple of minor ones you addressed, or learn the tools if there are only a handful that could be mastered by a computer idiot like me, and that aren't themselves prohibitively expensive.

But I'm skeptical of your skepticism. If you watched the video and can debunk the uniqueness of it-countering each impressive looking feature and explain how to easily and cheaply do the same thing just as well, I would be sure to avoid it, as I'm not anxious to take on a new $99 a month expense.

I just wonder how many Warriors I would have to hire, and how many tools I would need to get (buy?) and learn to use to do everything it does-not just the one or two things-and do them as well. Maybe there's an easy answer-before jumping all over me, recall I admitted to being totally non-techie, but of course that is part of the big appeal; for people like me to concentrate on ideas for content and marketing rather than mastering the manipulations of 1s and 0s (or having to put a techie on the payroll).

Making Kajabi irrelevant would require an all-in-one solution with a great interface that is easy for computer idiots like me to deal with, and provides all the advanced functionality Kajabi does. Or at least a limited number of easy to use tools that function well together without needing a computer geek to get them flying in formation. And again, that together provide all the same benefits.

Part of my skepticism is due to the fact that the videos made by all the people who have been beta testing it, as well as the look of their forums and web pages is 100% better than most of what I see done online without it. I may be technically challenged, but I know what looks impressive to an end user, and I know what a relief it is to be able to watch a video that doesn't take 10 minutes to load, stop every 2-3 minutes, and look like garbage anyway.

All of which begs the question: if existing tools (that aren't prohibitively expensive, or difficult for non-techies to use) can do just as well, why doesn't the stuff produced without it look and function better? Honestly, the forum features alone put just about all forums I've visited to shame. What other tool has the context feature, for example, and why is nobody using it, if it exists?

I don't mean to be argumentative; I'm asking for more info before dismissing it as rehash. I admit my ignorance, but I'm not without online experience as an end user/customer, and this stuff looks way cooler than the stuff that came before done with the tools readily available now (unless there are a bunch of new tools just coming out that are going to significantly upgrade content management, storage and delivery, security, video resolution, storage and load times, etc).

I just want to be able to remove the technical hurdles to getting things done online in a way that blows away the end users, and makes me look like a million bucks. If I have to become a virtuoso in the use of 20 different software tools, or hire 5 different technical experts, and try to make sure their work is compatible with each other's, then I will remain stuck, and it's worth the monthly fee to avoid the headaches.

Kajabi apparently addresses those concerns for easily distracted fools like me-and it isn't just about doing one or two functions-someone would have to explain to me how you can easily do everything it does as well as it does it without dedicating your entire hard drive 24/7 to the job. I know it's a tall order, but if you can't debunk it point by point, then having you point out how a couple of it's features aren't unique just isn't going to kill the sale in my case.

I would love to hear the estimate if someone does take the video to a programmer and say "do this", and then the result, because part of the problem with hiring a programmer is the often vast gulf between what they say they can do and the actual end result. This thing has been in beta testing for quite some time-I'd be amazed and delighted if one of our Warriors for hire could just duplicate it and have it ready to go in a month or less, and come in at under $1200 (a year subscription to Kajabi).

Years ago I saw a comment script that would do that. It's not revolutionary.

As far as automating the launch pages, I have a script for that. I just haven't launched it, yet. Life got in the way.

I can vouch for OptimizePress by James Dyson. All the fancy sales pages, squeeze pages etc. you see available in Kajabi's launch videos are easily done using OptimizePress (and WordPress). There are alternatives, and I'm a fan of this one.

I put together a quick video on how to create a kajabi styled squeeze page in less than 6 minutes with OptimizePress. I use it, and highly recommend it. I also use it on my product sales page as well (not in the video).

Can I use OptimizePress as a Wordpress theme for my blog?

Stupid question... I know....

But I have the impression that OptimizePress is used for creating Sales Letters, Squeeze Pages and Product Launch Pages.

If I want to create mini-site that focuses on a particular niche, can I use OptimizePress as my main theme? How does the main theme look like? Two columns, three columns or look like a magazine or news theme?

This can be accomplished with cookies. You create a code that the script looks for and if the cookie holds the proper code then the page gets shown, if not then you are forwarded to the first page in the funnel.

I had been working on a launch funnel system that does this but I have so much else going on that there is no telling when I will be able to start looking at it again.

BuddyPress could be awesome if it does a comment thing like Kajabi! I'm checking out the BuddyPress plugin right now but based on its description I don't see if it can do the following (I'm using the Digital Access Pass plugin if that matters)...

1) Will BuddyPress enable my members to have their own central dashboard where they can see all the comments/questions they've left on my membership site, and all the answers to their questions that others have left for them?

2) Have you used the BuddyPress plugin yourself?

3) I noticed that you have to use their recommended themes. Did you use a different theme? If so, what did you use that worked with BuddyPress?

I'm creating my videos with a little Kodak ZI8 video camera (it has an external mic input). I'm using Screenflow for my screen capture videos. I'm editing both with Screenflow (since thats what I'm used to). My videos aren't as slick as Andy's but they will do the job.

If you're talking about recording whatever is on your desktop then I suggest Screenflow for Mac or Camtasia for Windows.



I bought OptimizePress and am looking forward to them integrating the perpetual launch feature. I assume you weren't answering the previous question because there is no way to create video with OptimizePress.

You can create the same cool presentations that Kajabi has on it's front page - I did. I did it to see what could be achieved with what tools. I emulated exactly the first 30 seconds or so, albeit without the "Hi there cousin Andy here" intro. I did use the same music creation tool AJ uses, and I recreated the logo pixel perfect, but called it Kashabi instead. Is there enough interest in WF to know how to do this? If so I might be convinced to publish how-to-me-to.
