What is the biggest problem the noobs/intermediate marketers face?

hey everyone,

I wanted to know what would be the most challenging task for a noob/intermediate marketer. What would be that 1 factor that differentiates them from an advanced marketer?

I was a noob myself but always had a bug for computers for it wasn't that hard for me to understand the advanced stuff.

I think most new people get bamboozled by technology.

A lot of questions we see on this forum simply don't make sense.

Things like SEO, wordpress, hosting etc are simply not understood.

    maybe information overload?
when i got started i started researching and buying things and i was bombarded with everything all at once. once i found something that worked, it was a matter of focussing and dedicating on it to get where i wanted to be.

        I agree with information overload.

Suppose you were in a strange land, and you knew you wanted to get to the capital city hundreds of miles away.

You could walk, and be guaranteed you would get there. It would be free, and also take forever! You would also need to find detailed directions.

Or, you could go by bus, and get there quicker, but it would cost a little more. There's less need to know the exact directions, only the connecting stops.

Or take the train, more expensive and quicker still.

Or take a plane, most expensive and quickest.

So now you have to consider accuracy of directions, effectiveness of methods, and also how much time and money can you afford to invest, all at once.

My only point is there are several ways to arrive at the destination, but if you have never used any of them, and don't even know how to speak the native language, it can be overwhelming!

        Kind of like Internet Marketing.

        Best wishes.

I would say that one huge problem for new folks is lack of enough experience to tell the difference between being dazzled with brilliance and buried with bull****.

When you don't know any better, everything looks good and you want as much as you can handle. After you've had to sanitize your boots a few times, you start looking at dubious offers and just saying no.

I think for me (and I feel like I've finally gotten past that beginner stage - I'm seeing some consistency, but am certainly not where I ultimately want to be) the biggest problem(s) were:

          1) Lack of focus

I was buying all kinds of different IM products and trying to learn all kinds of different methods for making money. When I finally focused in on one system it when things started coming together.

          2) Not keeping track of what's actually working

When I started really analyzing exactly what was working well for me, I was able to simply do more of that and see increased success.

          3) Lack of consistency

I would get fired up and work really hard for a couple of days - and then not see something working right away, get discouraged, and stop for a week or so. Just cranking out content and getting it done on a consistent basis has been another turning point for me.

          Hope that helps!

IMO if you work from the base up, you need to know how to make a wordpress blog and get it running. Installing scripts is another part.

Driving traffic is the core of the internet business and even advanced marketers are all ears when it comes to driving top quality traffic.

I think there are multiple things that hold back Noobs

        1.) Information Overload.
        2.) Not taking action
        3.) Procrastination
        4.) Frustration
        5.) Fear of Technology
        6.) Fear of Failing
6.) Being ripped Off and getting sick of false promises.

I could go on but I think we get the drift.

I would agree with you in all the above. Those are the main points that noobs and almost every internet marketer face.

I would go with these and add in lack of focus whether unintentional or not. As well as organization, mindset, recognizing value vs. garbage, and most of all knowing what questions to ask.

Besides info overload, when I was starting out, my 2nd biggest problem was asking the wrong questions

although on the surface that and similar answers look the winner they are in some ways masks.

information overload = i am unclear about what i want to do so i will grab at anything that shines.

Not taking action = because i don't have any focus and just continue to information over dose i become numb in the head and do nothing / i have no direction.

Procrastination = it really is covered above / no direction or clear purpose.

Frustration = varied but i look at all of this mass info i have collected because i do not know what to do / it just frustrates me now / i am confused even more Grrr

Fear of Technology = everything is new the first time we see it / learn or earn and outsource it.

Being ripped Off and getting sick of false promises = mostly bull poop from newbies who in their unclarity about what they want to do, collect eGuides and then complain they did not work, i have information overload, and because of that do not take action / that must be some body else's fault ? yes / surly it is not me ? / they sold me this book that promised millions / I downloaded to my desktop / it has sat there since and i have not made a cent / nor have i taken action.

          ? what you say

The biggest thing i see is a combination of errors that start out something like this - people may or may not start with a passion / regardless very very quick they are blinded by the lights of fame and fortune / they suck on the eGuide for sale section like a 5 year old boy sucking last bubble's from his chocolate milkshake / he can't get enough / he wants more.

He / She continues to order more and more golden nuggets and before long the desktop is awash with eGuides, some never ever read or if at best glanced at.

Next Nothing is getting done, Hey Arnold, what about me it isn't fair for i have had enough of my eGuides, why am i not rich now ?

This surly is more frustrating than i ever thought / nothing works, O yea now i see it clearly as the rain has gone, those clowns yell out roll up, roll up, every player wins a prize today just to peddle their eGUides to people like me.

They are ripping us blind just like the 3 mice, up and down the clock we run waiting our time away, On line it's scam.

and so the story goes, then every once and a while, a few work out that it starts with passion, what's inside of you, what makes you tick, what is it you like doing, what is your interests, what is you passion that rips right in tight inside your gut.

Answer that and you solve 99% of the problems above, you see when you buy another's passion, thats exactly what it is ? it's not yours and that why it sits on the desktop in dusty folders.

You are busy chasing another persons dreams, and they do not inspire you, thats why you really never get started.

Find your own inner fire and be true to who you are and what you want to achieve as your first stepping stone, then buy only the related information you need to add to that goal, learn from those people doing similar, and when that happens / this happens.

you do not get information overload, you stop procrastinating and start taking action because your driven by the gut / that fire no body can put out inside / that passion must bolt you out of bed in the morning / you are a one man army on a mission / feel it deep, you won't have time to be frustrated / something holds you up move past it / nobody can stop a person who knows where they are going.

so step one, whats your passion and that is the answer to the op's Q right there.

it's late / ramble rubbish over / back to do some more work.

I am somewhere between a Noob and Intermediate...just depends on what skill we are talking about.

But I would say from personal experience, that information overload is intense. I am a pretty calm and rational person, and even I sometimes I feel paralyzed by info.

I would also say that a major problem for Noobs is who to trust. You know not everyone is selling exactly what they hyping. I have never purchased a major product to help me out in IM because I have absolutely no idea of who to trust. Guess I would rather just walk and hop on the bus sometimes if I knew the next stop...

General MINDSET. Experienced Marketers (successful ones at least) have a can-do attitude - which is hard for newbies to obtain when they are skeptical at first.

I think noobs' biggest problem is their ability to find a system and stick with it. Not everyone is cut out to be an affiliate marketer. Neither are they all suppose to create income via autoblogging.

Because of that, most fail and thought that IM isn't for them. I struggled alot in the past. Thinking that i can be a good auto blogger, but i realize that it isn't something I can do long term. I dint fail and give up, I just fail in finding the system I want to build my IM biz on.
