Why do I feel like I get affiliate marketing to a certain extent...and so do other "normal" people, but all of the really successful marketers have secrets...

Where do you find out these secrets, I mean, every affiliate marketer has to start somewhere right?

I'm just getting so frustrated...I've been researching and getting played for the last year and a half...with about $20 total made...

What's the deal? I really am so eager to learn, what do I have to do for someone to honestly teach me?

    Hey Luna,

Don't give up mate because when it happens it happens quickly.

I see you only have 1 post here, so spend some time hanging out in this forum and learning from the people around here.

These 'secrets' come with experience. A $20 total made? That's ridiculously low! I don't know what you've been reading but you can make 10 times more easily. If you really want to get into affiliate marketing I would recommend you read this page entirely:
    Uber Affiliate Marketing Guide
and setup some small campaigns, then scale up, test, scale up etc.

    Goodluck!

Just keep learning and taking action!

Specifically, how are you doing your affiliate marketing? What niche have you picked?

People will be able to contribute more specific feedback if you specify your current approach.

    Here is the secret .....

Stop jumping from one thing to another and stick with 1 method until it makes you money.

You see, there really is no secret but what usually happens is that people try some money making technique for a few weeks and when they don't see results right away, the switch to a different technique. They never stick with 1 think long enough for it to become profitable.

Unlike what you have probably read in many IM products, making money online takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. You just have to have faith and believe it will happen, then churn out the work to make it so.

I couldn't agree more. There is no real secret to IM, all you truly need is persistence and dedication to following through with it. It'll take time and effort to really become a success at any one method, and the real issue here is that newbies are either unwilling or unable to go through that learning curve in order to finally get results.

Yeah I've done the whole hopping around thing and recently had a lightbulb click and think "Yeah I need to be FOCUSING on one thing" It's hard when you become a part of so many mailing list and what not...

Well for right now I like promoting affiliate products, that's what I enjoy...and what I want to be into at the moment...Maybe later down the road I want to try other things, but for now I want to promote other affiliate products..

And it's hard when I don't know all the "tactics" to even begin to compete with other IMers..

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. I'm probably the biggest "hopper arounder" here!

Plus it can be frustrating when you don't know all of the tactics, so if something isn't getting you the results you want then you feel like you are wasting your time and should move on to something else.

I think, though if you stick with one thing long enough, you will see some success and you can refine your process from there.

Also, don't feel like you are stuck with that one thing forever - if you have good ideas or see other methods you might like to try make note of them for later. Or set aside some time for trying "new" things but keep the bulk of your time on your one initial project.

After a while you will work out a method/system that works for you - takes time but well worth it.

I know what you mean, the "focusing on one thing" doesn't even make sense when the one thing you are trying doesn't work! So you buy the next "system" and focus on that, and it doesn't work...and people tell you to focus on one thing?! But the gurus are just making money off of telling you one thing at a time, and not the whole picture!

Okay, so you want to make money off of affiliate marketing. Perfect. Do you want to pay for traffic? I'm sensing not, because why gamble money for ads when you don't know exactly the whole game yet?

So, in my opinion, learn how to Article Market. This means writing articles on Ezine Articles to attract visitors. This is easy. This takes your time, and nothing else.

The people who visit your articles will click on your links in them, and either go to your own website with more articles on it with affiliate links (a basic Wordpress blog), or to a Top Level Redirect to a product that sells well (ClickBank, Amazon, CJ, whatever!), and you get an affiliate commission.

This is so basic, and that's why it works. You don't need to "stay on top" of all the changes to the internet, and all the cutting edge back linking strategies. You just need to learn how to do this, and crank them out.

Most of these "Pro's" never switch niches ... so it's just a matter of time.
They build sites, build contact lists, and do it all over year after year.
So effectively, their list keeps growing.

If you change Niches so often, its hard to build up that 20k, 50k, 100k list....
which sounds crazy, but its really not. its just a matter of time.

Focus more on the entire process and don't be in too much of a hurry to send people to the sales page. I have found that people are more likely to purchase when they feel you are not being too aggressive.

Here's the one real "secret" when it comes to affiliate marketing...

Put yourself in your client's shoes. Do you like to be tricked? Scammed? Who do you buy from? The answer is that no one likes to feel like they are being taken advantage of and that most people will buy products from sources that they like and trust.

Build a relationship with your audience. Help them. Care about them. They will appreciate the effort and many will reciprocate. When you go to them with an offer, make sure it's something that you would recommend to a good friend.

Here's a secret most newbies seem to miss:
instead of sending affiliate traffic away to an offer
and lose it forever, get them to a newsletter and
sell them over and over again.

Definitely spend the $37 for the "WAR ROOM" lifetime membership. SOOO many great resources and advice. Soak it all in and then get out there and start applying everything you learned. Someone said it earlier but stick to ONE thing don't keep bouncing around.

It is definitely possible. Since joining the forum a few months ago, though a lot of hard work, i've had my first $100 day. That day was mostly due to fellow warriors advice.

    never give up

    best of luck,

Excellent posts here! It is all about the 3-D approach: Dedication, Desire, and Discipline. What did you do that made you $20? I always found the most difficult part was staying away from the Make Money Online Niche personally.

What techniques have you tried? What is your website? What niche are you in?

I know it seems like I am just asking questions, but my experience is that Warrior members are extremely helpful. That being said, they cannot help you if they don't have any specifics.

Everyone offered great tips and advice. All of which I heartily agree with. However, use this forum as a way to get help in specific areas. Perhaps you want to know how to improve a landing page headline, or drive free traffic, or advertise on Facebook.

I guarantee there are plenty of willing souls, you just have to ask the right questions.

Don't give up! We have all been there, some of us are still on the edge. Dedication, Desire and Discipline has to be your mantra.

    Here's to your success,

    K.
