QUESTION: Product creation sequence??

Hello there Warriors.

Here's a question for you...

How often should a marketer create and release
his/her own products to their lists?

One per month? Two per month? More?? Less??

Just wanted to get a "feel" for a tight sequence
of launching your own products with mixing in
affiliate promotions...

Thoughts??

Talk soon,
Gary

I hate asking questions and getting this type of answer I'm about to give you (sorry!), but there really is no set amount. There are so many different factors that it's like asking what kind of pants I should buy. There are different cuts, different materials, different colors, different fits, different brands, different prices, etc. Nobody can really give a specific number without knowing all these things.

Some products will take longer; some products will need to be researched more than others, especially if you're jumping into a new niche; some products have much more competition; you get the idea.

Here's a better answer, though. How satisfied are you with your current product output? Do you think you could be making more? Are you spending all your time creating products but not seeing enough returns?

I'd say try to create as much as you're comfortable with, and tweak as you go along. Fix the areas that you don't feel meet your standards. I hope this helped because I know you were probably looking for something more specific.

There are two factors at play here...

      1. First, if you are running a real business, then you need to set revenue and profit goals for your business. I know most people are not doing IM full-time, but when you are, you need to run it like a real business. You can make great money, but you need to sustain that AND be able to invest back in to grow your business and for that, you need to be able to plan. When you set your plans, then you need to work that back into how many sales you make (your own and any other sources of revenue you have). For us, we set 4 product releases in a given niche as an ojbective this past year...that was a mix of an ebook, membership site, special report and high-end coaching program. In addition, there are affiliate revenues, some advertising revenues and various project/consulting gigs (mainly as a way to keep a handle on the market and help out some dedicated customers)

      2. Then, you need to work from that plan and come up with a product mix that works within your schedule. My feeling is that monthly products would be too much...if your market warrents that much in content, you may want to look at packaging into a recurring revenue product such as a membership site or some sort of private mentor club.

Thanks for the reply... Hoping I get someone who is actually creating
their own products and promoting affiliate products and what type of
    schedule they keep to.
