Why do all my threads get deleted?

I put up thread earlier GENUWINLY trying to help people with Marketing their website... deleted in 20 minutes. This is the third time this has happened. I don't get it. I thought this forum was MADE to help people market their businesses....

Frustrated,
Kevin Alexander

It sounds like the mods or members GENUINELY thought you were trying to get people to click the link either in your post or in your sig

P.S. Please click the link in my sig
P.P.S I'm GENUINELY trying to help you...Not promote my stuff.

You posted a link to your blog and your YouTube channel, and that was probably seen as self-promotional.

Yes, this is a marketing forum, but this section at least, and a number of others, are for discussions about marketing between marketers, and IMHO it's important that we don't feel we're being sold to during these discussions. Everyone gets to promote their stuff in their sig, and there are plenty of sections here that are specifically for people to advertise. Everyone has a blog in the Profile area and there's now an Article section, too.

The Product Reviews section has long been a hotbed of people sneaking their affiliate links into supposedly unbiased "reviews," but lately I've seen an increasing number of people starting threads in the Main Forum that are really video blog posts, linking to their pages. The mods are cracking down on that, because it would likely balloon out of control very quickly. You can have your blog links in your sig, but it's considered bad forum etiquette to point to them from inside your post.

It's also not considered a good idea to start another thread complaining about your thread being deleted.

Thanks for the response. I understand and respect that. I was really just looking for an explaination and yours was well written and informative. Thank you again.

Btw: There is nothing on my Youtube channel or my blog to buy... just trying to help people, that's all. BUT, I can understand the reasoning behind not allowing it. And I of course will abide by the rules. I love this forum. I think it is a fantastic resource for learning internet marking.

      Thanks again and God Bless,
      Kevin Alexander

I'm here for three years more less.
One time I was getting my posting deleted. At the second time I did contact the moderator and politely, I mentioned that if I was doing something wrong it wasn't in purpose. I solicited if he could help me out to avoid being wrong. Obviously, I got a response with the right answer. I fixed the problem and I never have had problems ever since.
Maybe you could try doing the same. I'm sure it will help you.

There are quite a number of posts with guidelines, etc. I suggest browsing the forums or reading the FAQ section. I know there is a sticky post somewhere with tons of extra info not in the FAQ but I can't find it. I suggest reading it or asking someone else if they have the link.

*Hint* The posts/rules also say that posts like THIS will be deleted - and this type of question should really go in the off-topic group.
