Hello,

I have just purchased a new domain name and immediately install my hosting nameserver to my new domain. Does anyone have any idea how fast will this be effective? Or do I have to wait for couple of hours or days to see my new domain name at my hosting cpanel? I have no issue with my other domains.

Thanks

Hi Qamar...it all depends on who you are using in my experience.

I use godaddy for domain names and hostgator for hosting so once I have bought the domain I change the name servers to hostgator asap. Sometimes I have access within the hour but you just need to keep checking.

It will be between 24 to 48 hours, if you bought the domain at namecheap, its shouldn't take too long. My domains usually will be fully resolved under 1 hour.

Usually, at every registrar they have the warning there: the propagation of the DNS could take 24-72 hours.

MOst of the time it's less... and for your end it also depends on where you are compared to the server.

Sometimes you will need to reload or empty your cache. But in my experience with Godaddy and I use Bluehost, they usually resolve in a few minutes after pointing my nameservers.

They'll tell you 24 hours, but according to my own experience, 5 minutes will do.
