Question re clickbank and offering bonuses

Hello there lovely warriors,

I just have a question regarding the recent changes at clickbank where now in your clickbank account you can't get an email of people who have bought a clickbank product you're promoting so that you can provide them with the bonus that you're offering for it.

Even though I do do this on multiple sites and make it quite clear to email me at such and such an address with their receipt more often than not people don't or perhaps they haven't bookmarked the page and then end up refunding.

I was wondering if any of you can share some information about how you might be tackling this new change.

thanks for your time and have a lovely day.

kind regards

colleen

The only way really now would be to have people opt in to your list first, again this doesnt guarantee they will return, but at least you can follow up and make it clear that youre the source that promised them a bonus... I would recommend list building regardless though really simply because of this followup ability and ability to contact people again and again and again..

I was just getting started with offering bonuses, and now they eliminate the emails!

Getting the emails is one thing, but what if they end up not buying. So if you make a bunch of sales, how would you know who bought (and who didn't) if you can't get them to forward some sort of confirmation email or something?

Any help with that would be great.

      Thanks.

        Colleen,

I believe Adrian has indeed come up with a workaround for CBLA customers. Here's the email he sent out about it:
        ..............

Since Clickbank no longer sends the customer's data (name and email)
CBLA can no longer send them the bonus email.

Instead, it will create a partial customer record on your site.

A customer will have to visit your site to 'claim/collect' his
        bonus.

        e.g.
        http://easybiztools.com/cbla/

*tip: you can rename the 'cbla' folder to 'bonus' so that it looks

        like: http://yoursite.com/bonus/

When a customer enters his/her name, email and receipt number, CBLA

will verify the receipt, and updates the customer record and either:
        a) display the bonus download page
        b) autosubscribe the customer.

It's your choice and it's fully configurable in the admin area.

    Thanks Deertrail for the post.

Colleen, just wondering if you had receive the same email? I sent that out quite some time ago. The new file (version 3.0) is in the download area.

Let me know if you need any help with the setup.

Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving weekend!

    Best regards,
    Adrian

      Hi Colleen!
You could require them to opt-in by basically telling them that by opting in they will get a bonus when they buy your product.
This is probably how most people are solving this problem.
