If I use a .co domain will there be a larger chance of my traffic being sent to a .com domain through mistypes?

    Test it.

It's one letter away from a typo.

Or will the .com be typo'd into your dot co?

typo's shouldn't be a major part of your traffic strategy, you'll get them either way.

as long as you're not trying to brand your name on bill boards, i don't think it'll be a problem, you get more traffic from people clicking links than typing in your domain name anyway - no matter the extension.

Driving traffic to your domain is the real art / challenge, other than the keywords IN the domain, I don't find the extension makes that much of a difference (other than regional / national ones of course, but .co has been declared international by google, not just regionalized to Columbia)

I own a lot of .co domains and there are a lot of typos. Jumped on them the same day they were available to the public. Some of the .com owners now lease them from me because I won't sel them Put your thinking cap on.

I don't worry about typo traffic. My traffic comes from links and I have a lot of .co, some of them ranking nicely.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.
