Calling Amazon Associates: Do buy now graphics increase clicks?

Hi guys I have a site i started where I put up a lot of amazon associate products. I use mainly text links, maybe like 2 hidden within a description of the product. However, Im not sure but I think a buy now button might help people know at first glance that its a site where you can buy something rather than just a blog. What do you guys think. Do you use buy now for amazon or price buttons?: if so where do you get the graphics? do they help your sales?

I think that "BUY NOW" or "ORDER NOW" in big letters a few times helps with selling.

Ratings (in the form of stars, hearts, whatever) also helps.

The only other thing I can think of is mentioning whether or not your item qualifies for Amazon's "Super Saver Shipping". I haven't tested it, but it might help if you have enough room for it.

A lot of people just 'borrow' the Amazon Buy Now button. The thinking behind adding a Buy Now button (and I am sure there is some truth in it) is that it increases clickthrough because it's familiar (especially if it looks like Amazon's button) and it's also a clear, visible call to action.

What I am not sure about is because my sites are niche product sites, they are supposed to presell the visitor on the product, not actually get them to a buying decision - I just want to get them to Amazon, and let Amazon do the rest (they are far better at it than me!), so I feel like BUY NOW would be rushing them into a decision they might not be ready for.

Problem is with these little niche sites, you are usually not getting the hundreds of hits that would make a split-test viable, so my jury is still out on that one, would love to hear what others think.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

Use either an Amazon "buy now" or "learn more" button and you should get more clicks. Using the Amazon button, or something very similar, will prime them that they are going to Amazon - where people expect to be sold.
