I need help fighting spammers

Its not been the best of mornings. I woke up to find my site/blog had been bombarded with spam comments. Unacceptable.

Is there a WP plugin or a code I could use to bounce the spam? Should I make the comments section on the blog to no follow?

Is there a solution or should I just suck it up and waste 20 minutes every morning :/ when I have a new blog that soaks up content and needs a lot of backlinking and optimization. On top of everything I still have to ALL my x-mas shopping...

    Aksimet should catch most of them.

    There's also a plug-in that generates the statement "Please check to indicate you aren't a spammer", or something to that effect beneath the comments section. I forget what it is though.
