Hi guys, long time lurker on here but nows time to start getting involved and making some money.

im looking at creating a product to sell in the parenting niche, im experienced in online biz so i know about clickbank and other ways to sell and have others sell.

when it comes to creating a product do you guys usually hire experts in the niche to write the product or research it and write yourself?

would love to hear from people who create products online and any advice would be most welcome

Before writing my products i always do a great niche and keyword research!

These 2 aspects are ESSENTIAL if you want to be successful with internet marketing!

Best tactics to create an info product:

    1) Try to find the BEST topic.

    2) Do a KILLER research using these sites to know what sells best:

    - eBay Pulse: trends, hot picks, cool stuff and popular searches on eBay.com
    - TREND HUNTER - #1 in Trends - Fashion Trends, Tech, Style, Design, Pop Culture and Marketing
    - trendwatching.com: Consumer trends and insights from around the world
    - AOL Hot Searches

read also books, and magazines related to your topic.

    3) Do your best to identify your potential audience.

    4) Try to find a very specific product idea, try to dig deeper into a niche and find a sub-niche or even better a micro-niche!

Welcome to the world of taking action for long-term gain!

Deved makes some great suggestions for research.

The parenting niche is very hot. I know because I've targeted and created ebooks in a parenting sub-niche.

I'm not going to tell you what it is or my chosen pen-name but I will tell you the parenting niche can be very profitable and rewarding. If you can find a desperate sub-niche, which shouldn't be too difficult, then you're golden!

As for asking experts to create products for you. Yes.

You'll be surprised how many parenting experts there are on these forums that are not marketers. If you build a presence and a good reputation on a forum by engaging and interacting then it's well worth approaching the forum experts and trying to strike a deal to create your product. In return you do all the marketing etc.

Many experts on parenting forums will be shocked to think that they can make money from their knowledge. They frequently share their wisdom and advice selflessly.

    Go for it!

    Garry.

      EXACTLY!
Try to find a very "desperate" topic.

Go on forums(there are plenty with endless topics),they can be your secret weapon to find desperate topics,micro-niches and catchy titles to develop your products!

Like Alexis Dawes says, with her fantastic guide gimme "Desperate Buyers Only",the secret is to look for "very specific, very difficult problems that have made the life miserable"!

Learn how to do a proper niche research and if you find those 'desperate topics",you could really become rich!

Would love to know what the niches are that parents actually pay for.

I suppose the niche could be where there is urgency like school refusal!

Think of anything that would make parenting a child more difficult, and there are bound to be some parents looking to fix it. This includes topics like:

Getting Babies to Sleep Through the Night
Helping Your Overweight Child Become More Active
    Getting Through the "Terrible Twos"
Breaking Dependence on Attachment Items (thumb sucking, pacifiers)
    Coping With Bedwetting
Keeping Your Child from Being a Finicky Eater (or getting them to eat healthier)

In addition to problem solving stuff, there's also a huge market of parents who want their children to be exceptional. You can market things like teaching methods, language and music training, etc. to this group. This is a less "desperate" market, but still something that's bound to be evergreen...everyone wants a little genius.
