What Do You Consider As The Most Captivating Keyphrase in Your Autoresponder?

The money is in the list. Yes, I agree. This is why most of us, including me, would be building our list in 2011.

From your experience, what is that "magical" word or phrase that you think or know that it captivates your list subscribers? And probably you have been using it repeatedly and it has been working for you like magic.

Yes, I want to know because I want to go into massive list building instantly.

I don't believe in magic, but if I have to pick just one word, I'll choose

    YOU

(as in talking about you is better than talking about me)

"You" is certainly important. But I'm not sure if there's one single catchphrase that magically transforms prospects into customers...

The most important thing is to build a relationship with them. Don't sell their socks off from the get-go...talk with them like you would talk with friends or workmates around the water cooler. Be transparent, give them good information, build trust, and you should be fine.

I will expand briefly on my "you" point...

I realize that the word "You" isn't actually required.

I also know that I can pull off writing an "I" email, but still make the message completely about them. The same can be said for 3rd person accounts as well.

Still, I feel in most cases, it's important to keep the focus on them as much as possible (directly or indirectly). Keep that "What's in it for me?" factor going. The moment they can no longer relate to what you're saying on a personal level, you risk loosing their intersest.

That aside, I do agree with what Jay said (and as I mentioned before, I don't believe in any magic keyphrase to turn customers into buyers. There's a lot that goes into it, not just one thing).

But really, I think the real trick is much easier and requires no magic at all. You just have to do one thing...

    Make them like you!

    That's it, nothing too complicated.

How you pull it off doesn't matter that much, as long as you pull it off. Use compelling content, dicounts, advice, comedy, rants, or whatever else, just appeal to them somehow and make them look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Pull that off and they will stay on your list, read your emails, trust you, click your links, and buy stuff from you.

    That's all I got.

There are a lot of words and catch phrases that work.

The appealing ones which work are:

    1. Wait,there's more
    2. Suppose
    3. Why
    4. Yes!
    5. The bottom line is...
    6. Well,believe it or not
    7. To begin with,
    8. Listen:
    9. Frankly
    10. Furthermore
    11. Here are the details

As someone who has made a lot of money from lists, I wouldn't waste time looking for any tricks or gimmicks.

Just write your e-mails the way you post on the forum, and you'll be fine.

Success/failure with e-mail lists is far more what they do, as opposed to what you do.

Give me a list of hyperactive buyers in any market, and I can probably send them an e-mail saying "click here" with the website link and I'll make plenty of sales.

Give me a list of tire kickers in any market and I'll struggle to make any sales.

The biggest joke in internet marketing is the money is in the "relationship with your list", although it isn't so funny for people who have wasted months/years of their life building a junk list which makes them a pittance.
