help pricing autoresponder series etc.. $20 for best answer

Best answer on this one gets $20 as gratitude.

I am meeting with a new client.
They are a big car dealership in my town.
An associate of mine has convinced them to do a variable data direct mail blast inviting
previous clients to "the big VIP sale"
They already have the typical dealership website.
Instead of putting the URL to their boring site on the direct mail piece I am suggesting something different
to solve a major issue they always face.
What is the issue?
People get the direct mail piece about 7 days before the event and then many forget about it. Sure they still make a killing but what if we could increase that conversion?
So
Create a new money site, make it a one page video squeeze page.
The video and voice over talks about "the big sale"
The money site can be re-used for the "next big sale" just need a new video/voice over.

Why a squeeze page? If we have their email I can create a 7 day auto responder series
getting them more excited by the day.

So whats my problem?
I have never really engaged in recurring billing structures.
Someone needed a website/or squeeze page and I built it, they paid that was it.

BUT

now I see that these fellows have big ongoing budgets and would have no problem paying me monthly to manage auto responders etc...

I have NO CLUE what to charge them or how to present it to them.
Any examples of what others have done or might do would be great.

Later I can see them wanting auto-responders to remind people of oil changes etc...

Again how can I structure this to make re-curring fees in a way that will make sense to VERY savvy business men.

When I set up an auto responder service for offline businesses, i write them 7 email messages per year at the cost of 250 dollars per year.

you could set up there auto responder service under your affiliate link, charge them a little less, or set up a campaign under your auto responder and bill them 250 per year for 7 emails, and 10 dollars for every extra email they want.

I saw people charging $500.00 for writing a 7 day ecourse series.

But as you want it to be recurrent monthly fee on variety of topics, may be you can give some discount for them.

thank you for the answers so far, I am also wondering how I might structure pricing on a monthly basis for something like sending out service reminders or oil change reminders to their clients. Wonder if I should charge by the list, by number of subscribers or by number of emails. Conceivably they will have a thousand clients that each need to receive an email at specific intervals, say every 90 days for oil changes etc..

Price it so they feel like they are getting a good deal... and
engage them in an ongoing dialog about your ideas to
increase their marketing results. If your emails produce
a return on investment they'll listen to everything you say -
and ultimately you want to get into a position where they
trust you to TEST your ideas on their dime.

Let's look at the bigger picture...

....they have these every month. If they make say $700 - $1000 per vehicle sold and they average 15 per month that's not bad. But if you can squeeze out another four cars for them each month based on your service they will increase their profit by a minimum $2,800 (just an example).

So, I would not go below $1,000 a month! Personally, I would start at $1,750 a month and if they want to negotiate you have some wiggle room. Keep in mind you should charge no less than $600 for set up fee!

Remember, they have to sell cars and they will spend money on newspaper and radio advertisements. They have the money you just have to ask for it.

      Just my two cents.
