Hey fellow warriors well i have just finished my first ever website promoting an amazon product.

stac2000100dotcom (not enough post for links yet)

please criticise away, i understand this is more than likely a loud of rubbish and could do with a lot of work so any help is much appreciated and do not worry about hurting my feelings, you gotta roll with the punches.

Many thanks in advance

Not a bad looking site. Nice and plain - not many outbound links - PERFECT for Adsense!

Try linking different words besides "here." You should hyperlink the keyword(s) you are targeting for search results.

Looks very clean. The color layout is kind of boring, but it still looks professional. I would throw an opt-in on there to start building your list. Very nice for a first site. Keep up the good work.

The page isn't ugly, but you need some stuff going on in the sidebar, you need a footer, and you need to add a privacy policy to the page.

    Hey Markod123,

    Nice going with the website!

In addition to what everyone said, you have an issue with the image located at:
    /images/banners/Banner-1-468x60.jpg

It's not appearing when I use Google's Chrome or IE7 to view the website. Haven't tried Firefox.

Take care and best of luck

    Hi Marko

I agree, very nice site for the first one, keep up the good work

I would also add a opt in form, to start building a list, and maybe add some more products??

Your photos at the top do not link to anything.

You should link them to your Amazon affiliate page of the product. You should also give the images titles and alt text. Name them using your keyword(s).

I would get rid of that banner in your footer. You need to decide whether it's going to be an Amazon site or an IM info affiliate site and focus on that.

The color scheme is sleek and professional but lacks a bit of a punch. Don't know what to do here, exactly, but maybe you can add a punch of one color.

Your site is nice and clean. Easy to navigate and easy on the eyes.

I like thta your photos stand right out from the background of your page and are obviosuly the focal point of the page without being obnoxious.

The CB ad on the bottom is out of touch with the rest of your site, both in appearance and in focus. The odds that someone coming to your site to buy a HDD and clicking on a hoplink ad are pretty slim and it takes away from the professional appearance of your site.

it look sliek I would expect a site about HDD's to look. Safe and secure.

    • Looks good for your first site Though you could have picked a better domain name. Anyway, work on getting more content, looks a bit thin right now.

Clean, but visually uninteresting. I suggest you change the background to a lighter color. The contrast will make the site pop.

Not an expert, but I think most Amazon guru's suggest you don't use the Amazon widgets. They tend to kill conversions. Use text links in the body of your reviews.

The big thing to me is how narrow your niche is. Your domain name is tied to one model of a Seagate product. These kinds of products are in about a 6-8 month cycle (a new model with a new number will be released by Seagate in about 6-8 months), so all your SEO and other work will be lost in a relatively short time.

..... and if the model name is trademarked, it could be even sooner. Be aware of that, just in case.

That's what I love to see. Thanks for not being one of those people that says "MY SITE IS UP WHY DIDN'T I MAKE 10,000 YESTERDAY?"

A website is never truly done. It can always be made better, so good for you for asking for feedback.
