Outsourcing VA monthly rate?

I have lots of projects and my time is not allowing me to right anymore. I plan to concentrate on SEO and I need a writer or 2. Do you think paying $200 per month for 20 days at 7 to 8 hours per day is fair? Or maybe $250?

How much do you pay for your VA? Please disregard quality in your answer. Experienced outsourcing IMers, please give some advice.. Thanks

It could be fair, but it depends on how high quality you are looking for.

Shouldn't you be willing to pay for Person A if A does twice the amount of work as B, but only gets paid 1.5x more?

It's all about the quality of work done by the VA, not how many hours the VA is going to work.

If you need quality, you must spend $300+/month for a VA. I heard Philippines are providing great service

I am looking into outsourcing, but not necessarily to get work done as cheap as possible,,,,as stated, quality does count...and it would be great to find a VA that will stick with me for awhile too

So, even if I have to pay someone 5,6, or even $700--it's what you both get out of it (you and your VA) that counts.

      keep smilin'

Filipino and I know a lot of writers in odesk but I want to know your standard pricing.

It it okay to hire someone and pay for $250 per month or pay 1.3 to 1.5 per article? Which do you think is more economical? I found someone here offering $270 per month for 20 days and when I computed the output, it appears that they are asking $1.35 per 250-word article or $2.7 per 500-word.

This really depends on the type of productivity you can get out of your full-time writers. If they work 8 hours per day and can only produce 3-4 articles daily (don't laugh, there was someone in here complaining about this very issue), then perhaps paying per article would be more appropriate.

Don't be overly concerned with price - while that is a consideration, the far more important aspect to consider is quality. If the articles are all crappy and not well-written, what's the point of doing this anyway? You won't get click throughs, and you consequently won't be making any money or getting a positive ROI out of them.

Quality matters far more than quantity in this case.

i pay mine $250 a month. They're from the philipines. their english is very good. you may have to hire 2 or 3 first for a probation period of maybe a week and decide on the best one. Or you can ask them to write 2 articles (pay them for the 2 articles) compare an decide.

But $250 is a good price. more expensive doesn't mean better english at all.

I would not focus on a salary budget. Focus on paying per task. As much as I dislike saying this, you will be amazed at the laziness of people. Some will work hard and provide really high quality articles the first week, then the next week will give you poor quality. Paying per task also allows you to better manage the quality of what you are paying for, at least at first.

I think it is fair. But If I were the employee then I would ask something between $300 to $400 although it depends on skills the employed person have.

$250 or $300 is fairly low for a high quality person. I actually pay a lot more, around $450, but she is amazing.

I would suggest trying out time doctor software to manage the VA also

As someone who tried their hat at writing for others I would say it all depends on how much you expect from your VA. As mentioned earlier you would probably fare better by paying per task. I for one would never accept less than 2 cents per word. So if you wanted 2 articles per day that would be $20 a day or $400 a month at the rate of 20 days.

I don't think writers will go for that price. Most writers are paid by articles written. Just make a deal with them.

Writer is more expensive than link builder. I am sure you can't get a writer with that cheap price. But of course it depends on the number of articles the writer will produce.

I think it will be best to pay by how each freelancer work. Around $5 per 500 word article can be a good price if you will ask me. Filipinos are good people and I wont mind paying that much for each article, however I heard others are paying as low as
    $3.

We are paying around $400 for 8 hours shift, 22 working days. I guess its fair enough and we have a person who work with full dedication. I guess it should not be less than $400 but it alot depends on the location where you want to outsource. The difference of currency rates counts alot here from a place where you want to outsource to a place where you are outsourcing.
