You need to develop a series of e-mails that you will send out to your list.

Most people recommend sending 3 emails, full of good content and tips that your reader will enjoy and then the 4th email being you promoting a affiliate product.

How does it work when sending a series of e-mails? Can they be set so every new subscriber get these mails with the same interval? For example subscriber 1 get the first mail 3 days after joning the list, and subscriber 2 also get the first mail 3 days after joning the list (no matter when he/she joined)?

Or can these series of mails only be sended out to the current subscribers on the list?

Firstly: Change the subject of this forum thread, so more people can see what the thread is about, and can open it to answer it.

Secondly: You need to Send emails out to them, so create some hot content emails for them, something that they would find interesting,- with no selling pitches in them, so they you earn trust with them.

You can then add in some promotional emails too, promoting affilate products too, but don't over do this.

Thirdly: View this thread, which outlines a strategy in some more detail:

Fourthly: Hit the thanks button, for my answer

Promoting stuff to your email list does require a game plan.

Not sure what your email list is about, but if you have a list
about "making money online" I would go to jv notify pro
and find a product that sounds like a good fit for your list.

I would sign up as a JV for one of the products, build a website,
do some SEO to get more people to my site, then create a bonus
product to give people when they buy the product through your
    affiliate link.

The product creators will send you emails to send to your list,
but don't copy and paste them. Rewrite the emails in your own
    words.

Ask the product creators if you can review the product before launch
day. Check out the product and tell your email list how awesome the
product is. (as long as the product really is awesome)

There is a whole step by step course called "Affiliate Promo Formula" from John Thornhill. PM me if you're interested in checking out this product. John hooked me up with a $10 off discount site this morning. (just got off the phone with him 3 hours ago)

Yes, it does. As does any business that you want to succeed.

The first problem with this advice is that his subscribers don't know him yet, so why would they dish out money on his recommendations? He needs to build a trusting relationship and prove to his list that he IS there to help them, either with free advice, free products, and THEN his free recommendations.

The second problem is that many people on his list will also be subscribers to other similar lists. Whe JV Notify sends out a blast about the next new game changer, 90% of IMers blast that same pitch to their lists. Do you really think that being a bandwagon promoter is the way to go?

Ask the product creators if you can review the product before launch day. Check out the product and tell your email list how awesome the product is. (as long as the product really is awesome)
You can do this with products that you already use too. A good method for when you eventually get to the point of sending out pitches is to explain how you use a product everyday and how it can be of benefit to you subscribers. You don't need to jump on product launch bandwagons to do this.

You don't need to go all out and start promoting to your list.

The usual practice is that you have to provide values to your list in the first 2 or 3 e-news letters.

It depends on the niche you are operating, you can come up with valuable resources many of them will appreciate and offer them free.

This will help to build your credibility and boost the trust factor on your side.

After 2 or 3 e-newsletter without selling or promoting ANYTHING, you can go ahead and make some suggestions(your affiliate links) in your next e-newsletter.

People who are already used to clicking on the links you provide and get real values will readily click on your affiliate link and if the landing page is well gauged, there must be some sure conversions(sales!).

          I agree with Devid,
You have to provide some value to your list in your mailings. You're building a relationship that may take awhile.

Now you may having something of value to them in your product or at your site as well but you can't hit them over the head with it.

Build slowly, give them some helpful tips or links to informative websites. Offer them a free ebook or something else at no cost to build that trust.

And one important aspect of sending emails to list is the headline, make sure it is catchy enough to get clicks and actually be read by the recipients.

Don't use hard sale, give tips and advice and build
relationships, put the link of the product at the bottom of
    each email you send out.

Then you pre-sell, you start introducing the product,
explain the benefits and why they need it.

    Thanks,

I usually have four to five good content emails sent before hammering a sales email.

The whole object with list building is creating rapport/trust with your list.

Otherwise, you will see your unsubscribe rates start to skyrocket.

    Hi Gary,

First off, congrats on building your list. That's something that a lot of marketers ignore when getting into internet marketing.

You have to realize that you have to take care of your list and give them valuable advice and content. You have to build rapport and trust before you can even start promoting anything to your list. You have to treat your list as something precious because they actually took the time to fill out your form and honestly, most expect you to bombard them with affiliate products and links, so don't be one of them.

Show your list that you're different and that you provide them value. I, too, am starting to build my list and I've only promoted one product to that list. Other than that, the only email I send them is when I posted something new on my blog or if I learned something useful regarding affiliate marketing.

So bottom line is take care of your list and gain their trust. Once you do, promoting products shouldn't be too bad. Good luck!

After you built your list, you need to have an autoresponder ( like aweber ). In this autoresponder you need to prepare some emails to send to your list. Don't try to send right away because no body will buy.. You need to prepare valuable emails with valuable content depends on the niche you have.. in that case you will make your list wait to receive your emails and want to read them, when you feel that you have their interest , you can start promoting for your products.. If you are interested to know more, I can tell you about the program that has taught me ..It's excellent and simple..

  • No need to re-invent the wheel man.
    • Step #1: identify what your average list subscriber desires/needs.
    • Step #2: provide related free and valuable content/solutions to raise your likability and trust factors among your subscribers.
    • Step #3: point them to quality products/services that further address what they desire/need.
    • Rinse and repeat step #2 and #3.
    It works. Every single time.
