Where's the best place to buy domains?

We're integrating a new feature into one of our products and I need to know where most people buy their domain names. Could you guys let me know where you buy yours?

Thanks!

I buy all mine from GoDaddy they are the best! Be sure to look on this forum or google "Godaddy coupon 2011"
They have all kinds of offers including .com domains for just $7.49
Just be sure to ignore the upsells after purchasing.

      Hi Brad

For what it's worth, I use Go Daddy as a first choice and if they start asking silly prices for dot coms, I then use Name Cheap

      Hope that helps your research

I am a GoDaddy fan, too. I have my own account manager now, but even before that, I found them to be fast and easy to deal with. When you get a number of domains, their easy domain management facilities come into their own. I know you think you may not need them, and people like Namecheap may be cheaper, but if you plan to build up more than a few domains, you may want to consider GoDaddy right from the start. Otherwise, you may end up with domains under more than one registrar, which then becomes a pain.

Master Resale Rights are so versatile, and these are educational, too. All kinds of IM material. Read, sell, break up into articles, combine into bundles, and there are 250 of them, complete with MRR, here for a bargain price! I'm even throwing in the sales page. Only £37 for Warriors. http://www.250mrrproducts.com

Namecheap. They're the 3rd company I've ever bought domains from and I don't see myself switching to a 4th any time soon.

You're getting a lot of early votes for GoDaddy, but you should be aware that a lot of people won't touch GoDaddy with a ten foot pole.

Godaddy but ignore all of the upsells. You don't need them and most hosting companies provide free what they are trying to sell to you. For instance you@yoursite.com emails. Hostgator gives you unlimited @yoursite emails. So don't waste money buying them from godaddy.

Here's a question to Godaddy fans.
    Why you:
    1. Even getting a coupon you pay $2.54 extra for each domain (1&1 $4.95)
    2. Have to pay your own phone call.
    3. Stay waiting on the phone for 25' average.
    4. Pay extra for privacy for each domain.
    5. Being extra careful or you end up buying something you did want it.
    6. If you want to transfer a domain have to go to several red tape steps.
    7. All the negative reports posted here.

      Namecheap for sure.

All the Godaddy fans should read NoDaddy.com.

Godaddy and Namecheap are both fine. I always used Godaddy until recently I went to Namecheap and they're pretty good.

To the OP and anyone else this applies to: Listen, it's just a domain name. Don't spend a year to decide where to get it from... it doesn't matter where you get it, or if pay a couple of bucks extra at one place or not... just get it!

    go daddy.com, namecheap.com or daily.co.uk

be aware of companies contacting you at the time for renewal and saying we can give you the domain through our hosting. They are just scams- buying the domain from the original source then selling it back to you for an extortionate price!

Namecheap and godaddy are the best ones. There should be tons of coupon on internet for godaddy which lets you buy domains for 0.5 - 1.5 $

I'm sure Brad Callen knows where best to buy domain names for himself. Seems like he's just trying to get the general consensus so he can know how best to serve his customers, for his product, whatever the reason. But he said that.

    Anyway, I like namecheap, best.

But I think using a poll would suit your needs best, Brad.

I think Namecheap shall win now. But my vote is not for them, Im with Domain Name | Internet Domain Registration | Register Domain Names because their rate is cheaper than namecheap even with the .com domain extensions.

Right now 1and1.com is having a nice sale. .com,.net and .org $4.99. .info .99cents.

I buy all my domains from them but I will say that when it comes to selling them sometimes it goes fast and smooth, other times it's a royal pain. I do agree that godaddy is a great place to have your domains and they have great customer service. But since I buy so many I do like the discounts at 1and1.com

This is dumb but I've always bought mine within bluehost or hostgator. I know-- I've wasted $2 or $3 each time but I don't care. I had a bad experience with godaddy when I was new and it scarred me I guess.

Namecheap here. There's usually a coupon available to save a buck or two and you get their version of privacy guard free.

Based on past experience, I don't recommend buying your domain from your web host. It can lead to issues if you decide to change hosts. Years ago, I had a host (who will go unnamed) hold my domain hostage in a locked status for over a month before they would release it to me -- and no, I wasn't behind on my bill. )

Keeping many parts of your business with different vendors may not be the easiest way to go about things, but it keeps any one vendor from gaining leverage over you.

Namecheap.com all the way. I still have some at godaddy just because I'm lazy. I was reminded to move them again when godaddy auto renewed 3 at once. I have a paypal dispute open right now for unauthorized use.

Godaddy sucks ass. And they steal your domain searches too.

Namecheap.com is the best in my opinion.

I wouldn't use GoDaddy to register a domain even if
they paid ME $10 for each domain registered.

Their slow and totally obnoxious upsell hell checkout
process ticks me off, together with their clunky
      interface.

      Namecheap everytime.
