Hi Warriors!

I have a question regarding WordPress, does anyone know if you have a blog on Wordpress.com are you allow to Monetize those blogs? Or do I need to have a domain account to do it?

Thanks!

If you're going to be serious about internet marketing, self hosted wordpress blogs is the way to go. Many people who were using the free option have found their sites blocked or deleted.

You should have your blog hosted on your own, free wordpress doesn't allow affiliate links.

One of the few things that is the same about blogs at WP dot com and a self hosted WP blog is the software. Otherwise, the ideas that can be expressed are different, the themes you can use are different and the intent of the sites is different.

Wp dot com is for people who want to publish their thoughts. In marketing, WP is a great tool, but only on your own domain.

I agree that you should consider having your own host. It's so that you can avoid possible problems like deletion from free services.

The other day some idiot made the mistake of comment-spamming my personal blog with links to his Wordpress.com 'blog' - actually, just a single-page feeder for his niche site hosted elsewhere. Needless to say that blog is gone. It's not worth breaking their rules - get on the wrong side of someone (like that guy did) and you run the risk of them reporting you (like I did, and would again) and you lose your blog, just like that.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

Basically WP.com is a no go on everything money wise (almost).

The best thing is to go with a self hosted site. Or dedicated WordPress hosts like page.ly but they are more expensive.
