Need help with a Word Press question please

I am attempting to put up my first complete Word Press site. I have always had difficulty with WP but am determined to get it. I cannot figure out how to make a page my home page. I did my first page but it is not the one that comes in when I enter my site domain in search. The homepage is empty. I can't find anything on the dashboard to designate that the page should be the homepage. What am I missing here? Thanks.

    In your Admin Panel go to Settings -> Reading -> then the first option you have will allow to select a Static Page for your Front Page and choose which one you want. Then just Save your changes.

    I think there is something wrong in your configuration. Even if you have not specified which page should be the homepage, a page with latest blog posts should come up.
