doubt this will work.

If you want more views it is simple follow these steps.

1) piggy back off hot videos that are in the current most watched.

2) Create a similar video or better video with similar topic title.

3) Always use SEO keywords, the title is the most important, then your description and metas

4) Post this on your blogs, and comment on other high traffic blogs and leave your youtube link trace at the end of your valued comment.

There you have it, way better ways to get traffic.

Yes you have to work for it, not just put a little icon in your text, there is no way that will increase traffic like the 4 steps have given above.

How do you know that the OP isn't already doing this?
As he stated, competition is getting harder to compete.

As he said, the symbol thing isn't used much in youtube...so new is good as far as I can tell.

Don't knock it until you try it.

I would have kept that one to myself.

Soon, it will be saturated with symbols.
So, try it, then move on to other methods when that dries up.
Every little bit helps, especially when it's a new angle for youtube.

that sounds like a smart trick. You can do something similar with symbols on google. They help catch the searchers attention.

Hmmm, I find it a bit difficult to get quality visitors with symbols. Maybe if they attract your attention, you will click... But when I often click on symbols-titles, I often go to rappers, make money spams, or even a young childs website. If I want to show I am a serious promoter , I just don't use symbols....

It could work but then again it could not, maybe it works for some videos where in other niches doesn't.... best way is to just try it, test it, just like with everything in IM you got to test it and see if it works.

I find it very interesting that many people here are knocking this method without even thinking of the possibilities here. Yet if you were to buy a guide instructing you on how to get the most visits to your own WSO, you will find that they specifically mention the use of SYMBOLS dramatically increasing their sales.

Hi,

Here is another strategy we have been using which has exploded our views:

They are the first thing that attracts a searchers eye are the thumb nail images. People look at the thumbnails and title before anything else. Create a compelling and interesting image/text combination.

Simple but very effective.

I find this an interesting theory, but if you are not listed in the first page of videos it seems pretty useless. YouTube is not that different than any other search vehicle.

You look at what catches your eyes on the first couple pages and then search again.

This could help if you have taken care of all the other key elements to get your video listed for your targeted searchers, but otherwise....???

Not bad but I doubt only some special characters could boost your rankings. The thing is you really need to be professional to gain those visitors. In the begining however some view boost could help as well.

Thumbnails are far more important than gimmicky symbols. Put a shocking, enticing thumbnail with a captivating title and you'll do far better.

I find that this "strategy" would only work for organic searches where the user is actually flicking through videos. I wholeheartedly doubt this would enhance the youtube video ranking.
