The www- part is part of the domain name. If you put a regular "www." in front of it, you go to the same page.

That is an old trick.

Basically you want the domain name google.com but obviously you can't get it.
Instead you get www-google.com and hope people click it without noticing the hyphen isn't a full-stop.

I haven't seen it for at least a year, and assumed Google had cracked down on it.

Ok cool but how do you get such names .i mena i have many doamain names but while registering them i dont find any such options of getting a domain name with www- or any other [if they exist lol]

So basically who provides it

you type it in when selecting your domain name.

If you want domain.com you would type in www-domain.com

Actually you don't need to enter the www anymore when entering in the address bar for a website. When you slected the link did it bring you to autoblog samurai??

It is a part of the domain name. Well if they are really copying the brand then they made a good job because an average user can be easily fooled by the name.
