How long after setting nameservers should I see the domain on my hosting account

Ok I set my nameservers to point to my host on Tuesday night
but 48hrs later still not showing on my hosting account.

Is this normal ? I bought the domain from Godaddy if that helps

Or is there something I might have done wrong ?

Any and all advice much appreciated

Thanks
Andy

You have done something wrong. It takes less than 4 hours. Sometimes 5-10 minutes even.

Did you try to clear your temp files, cache or clear the dns ?

      Call your hosting company.

The only time it has taken more than a few minutes for me was when the host had some maintenance going on.

Did you create the domain account on your hosting?

I agree I've probably done something wrong, this is all new to me but all I've done
on godaddy is go set nameservers on the domain I just bought from godaddy and
copy and paste the nameserver 1 & 2 from an existing domain I already have pointed
to my hosting account. Should have been easy or so I thought.

How do I clear temp files, cache or clear the dns ?

      Cheers

Technically it can take 48 hours, but usually it takes under 10 minutes realistically.

I would guess you have done something wrong personally.

When you go to the registrar website and look at details for the nameservers, are the old ones still there? If yes, then there is a problem at the registrar level.

If the new nameservers are listed, then build your website and it should show up.

Its a godaddy bug. I dont know whats wrong with their system but its totally wierd. I have faced this same issue on my client's domains SEVERAL times, where I have put the correct nameservers, but yet godaddy would show a parked domain page !! Not on all the domains but some of them.

You have not done anything wrong. Its godaddy.

Generally, it wouldn't take long to be effective for a new domain, so it must be something wrong with your hosting provider or godaddy.
